I have been trying to get some valid info on whether or not the Superbowl will be broadcast in HD this season (2002)

Unfortunatly the news does not look good. I have read several posts the Fox is having infrastructure upgrade problems and plan to go online with HD broadcasts in January. This leaves little time to prepare for the Superbowl

I read another post from a supposed fox affiliate and its about a 50/50 chance of them getting everything together by then.

Other posts simply think it will not be broadcast in HD this year.

Has anyone heard anything else about this?

Thanks ALOT FOX! Time to jump on the F**Kin band wagon! sheesh

Even if fox does broadcast it in HDTV, odds are Directv will not.

Unfortunetly, FOX does not support HDTV the best they do is 480p. SO, if the Superbowl is on FOX then we are SOL. It certainly will not be broadcast on DirecTv in HD unless Marc Cuban can strike a deal to show it on HDNET. Which is a possiblity, far fetched but possible.
