I was traveling through a small town in northern Iowa yesterday and saw a radio sack on the main road. I needed a couple of caps and some other junk, so I stopped in. This was not your typicle radio sack, they sold all sorts of other stuff too..Even toilet paper!! Anyways I started jawing with the owner and lo and behold he has a pile of old recievers!! all with h cards!!!!!! So I proceded to lie,, Told him I was an installer for DTV and could really use those old units for repair jobs,, He agreed and sold them all to me for $50.00. I was so extatic that I forgot to by my caps.:D

This is just another example of persistance. I always shop at garage sales, flee markets, second hand stores, etc. I have never and WILL NEVER buy my units off of FleaBay. Just my .02 and thought maybe some of the newer peeps out there could use this kind of info.

REMEMBER
1. Garage Sales
2. Pawn Shops
3. Goodwill or Salvation Army
4. ASK EVERY ONE YOU KNOW (just say you are thinking of getting a dish and if they know of anyone with a used one 4 sale)
5. Sat dealers (you have to find a really ignorant one though)
6. Electronics swap meets (HAM radio junkies etc.)

Good Luck Hope this helps

Ask the cable guys... I worked contract for comcast doing installs, and comcast always had dish buybacks. Comcast just had us through them away anyways. Besides, anyone who works for the cable company gets it free...
