Now I am not particularly a prude and I could care less about PORNO but for a company to claim that they are the "protectors of Canadian broadcasting" in the Supreme Court of Canada, I wonder, IS THEIR VILE PORNOGRAPHY WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT? After all Bell ExpressVu do broadcast the most VILE PORNOGRAPHY on North American Satellite TV, in my opinion.

They want to create an "absolute prohibition" against Sky Angel and its Christian television broadcasting and have Canadians face one year in Jail and substantial fines for receiving “Sky Angel” yet they broadcast and SELL the most VILE PORNOGRAPHY on North American Satellite TV, bar none.

I guess that what Bell ExpressVu broadcast is what Shiela Copps is so fond of and why she is defying the Supreme Court of Canada in BELL EXpressVu's favor. And is this VILE PORNOGRAPHY made in Canada? Perhaps people should call the CRTC to ask them if BEV‘S PORNO is produced in Canada and is what Bell ExpressVu mean by “Canadian Broadcasting“ and if that is what Shiela Copps wants to IGNORE the “RULE OF LAW” and the Supreme Court of Canada in favor of.

OTTAWA - The federal government will continue efforts to block grey-market satellite distributors from doing business in Canada regardless of a Supreme Court of Canada decision expected by next spring, sources say.

Ottawa is considering issuing a public statement before Christmas backing Bell ExpressVu and other licensed Canadian operators, and will change the legislation governing satellite distribution if the Supreme Court rules in favour of a small company that sells direct-to-home decoders that receive U.S. signals, sources said.

Sheila Copps, the Heritage Minister, told a Canadian industry group this week she will ensure the government's interpretation of the Radiocommunications Act, which is that it bans grey market satellite distribution, is upheld regardless of the court ruling.

She told the group she wants to issue a statement jointly with Brian Tobin, the Industry Minister, in the coming weeks.

Mr. Tobin would be prepared to sign off on such a statement, a source said.

The government's signalling of its intention is a blow to Can-Am Satellites of Maple Ridge, B.C., and other grey marketers. Can-Am has won two cases in provincial appeal courts, arguing the issue is freedom of expression and unfettered access to public airwaves. Both courts concluded it does not violate the Act, as written, to sell decoders in Canada.

Well Mr. Tobin are you a fan of this VILE PORNO too sir? Do you REALLY agree? To the Exclusion of Canadians Rights and Freedoms?
It looks like the Government and even Ministers such as Shiela Copps do not consider the Supreme Court of Canada as important since she is saying she will uphold the governments (possibly wrongful interpretation of the RC Act) regardless of the Supreme Court of Canada’s ruling. This basically means that even if the government is WRONG, she will uphold the wrongful law, if it is for her buddies at BCE and BEV.

I am not sure how she will do this since our society is built on the "rule of law" and this seems to indicate that she will NOT go along with that "law and Order". This is a very interesting position for a Government Minister to take and may well call for a General Election to be held since the Government openly states it will IGNORE the Judicial branch. Ms. Copps should RESIGN over this OUTRAGEOUS stance.

So now that Can-Am has spent a fortune of money, fighting its way through three levels of court from the B.C. Superior court, to the B.C. Appeals court and now to the Supreme Court of Canada at ENORMOUS COST, this means nothing to Ms. Copps who will STILL deprive them of their lawful right no matter what the Supreme Court of Canada decides. She will be backing Bell ExpressVu and their VILE PORNO broadcasting, no matter what the court says.

In other countries, when this attitude is prevalent in a backwards society such as Rhodesia, people yell that BRIBES and GRAFT have been paid. While I would not say that in Canada, I truly wonder "could this be about playing golf with Tiger Woods?" :)

What is it that would cause a Government Minister to behave in this manner which totally disrespects our Supreme Court, one of the bastions of Democracy in Canada? Is it going to be a trend of this Liberal Government to IGNORE our Supreme Court rulings. If so then I think citizens have a lot to be worried about. In a DEMOCRACY it is often the COURTS that are the ONLY defenders of the CITIZEN and his RIGHTS against the GOVERNMENT. This is very worrisome and negative. Some may consider this the start of ANARCHY!!!
