I was just wondering how Bell can justifie there actions towards the Canadian DTV viewers.It seems to me that all there concerns to stop the public from watching "gray market" tv and preserving the wonderful Canadian culture that they feel we should be forced into watching is just a crock of crap.It seems to me that they are the theifs who are stealing our rights to freedom of choice.They feel they have the right to sell a package of viewing options that contain channels that can be viewed for free on your bunny ears not to mention the french channels that I personally don't want or need for the simple fact I don't speak or care to speak the language(no offence to the french speaking public).They want it so there can not be any foriegn satellite signal viewing in Canada,yet they are more than willing to sell you a package that contains such.Sounds like there main concern is lose of revenue or potential revenue and nothing more.If it comes down to where my only options are to watch Canadain satellite you can bet it won't be BULL EXPRESSVU.

When it come to Bell it has always been about the money nothing more. Why do you think the buy govenment employees? Golf Anyone? They are trying to preserve the strong hold they have on the Canadian people as long as they can....

But all things have to come to an end.... the Government has be deregulating alot lately and allowing competition into the market place.... why are they not doing the same for Bell on this issue? well... Bell is paying them ( in one way or another)...


Think of this....

Electricity is now deregulated

Local Phone in some markets (Very limited) is now deregulated, but they dont really care as they are still reaping in the profits as they lease the lines and telcos to the competition....and dont have to deal w/ the customers which costs huge amounts of cash for staff and office space etc... ironic no?

as well as other utilities......Gas etc....


Bell is like that uncle that always asks for money... but never repays....

I hate not having a choice... I hate the cable companies, I hate the phone companies... just for this reason.....


most will agree cable companies and Bell suck ass.... I would estimate in the order of 8 out of 10 would agree.... why? well because they want CHOICE!!!

Bell and the GOV have teamed up and said screw Canadians... This is about the money.... all about the money nothing more..... why else would BEV appeal this to the Supreme Court?? Why else would Jean "the Crook" Cretian golf w/ BEV execs? for the friendship?? I think not.. No doubt a brown paper bag with unmarked notes was passed to him @ some point.....


I for one hate the Liberals... they are destroying this country peice by peice! in fact pretty much every political party we have sucks ass... they all have their own private agendas... BS in my opinion... what happened to a government for the people??? Government is in business for itself nothing more.... and believe me it is a business.

I have to say that I pretty much agree with simple enough here to simply say "ME DITTO."

Has anyone noticed that Bell ExpressVu have the most DRASTIC PORNOGRAPHY on TV in North America.

Now I am not a prude and I could care less about PORNO but for a company to claim that they are the AVANT GUARD protectors of Canadian heritage I ask, IS THEIR PORNOGRAPHY WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT.

Is that PORNO what they call "Canadian heritage."

They want to exercise an "absolute prohibition" against Sky Angel and its Christian television values yet they broadcast the most VILE PORNOGRAPHY on North American TV.

I guess that is what Shiela Copps is so fond of and why she is defying the Supreme Court of Canada in BELL EXpressVu's favor.

Well, you asked for it.

Regarding lack of choice, IMHO there is a lot of choice in Canada-right now. Not only can you subscribe to two different sat providers, but you can also test two other ones, for a total of 4(!) different sources of information, and that's not even counting cable, broadcast, and the Internet. HOWEVER, Beverly is actively trying to corrupt that. Us Canucks are lucky; our government isn't as corrupt as that of the USA. Yet.

Regarding lack of proper government, I don't think I need to say much because my opinion has already been stated for me so many times on this and other BBSen- It happens because of those damn profit-grabbing soulless corporations who don't care whatsoever about how they get their money, as long as it comes in.

Regarding Beverly being in the pocket of the goverment... Well, I think the Government is in the pocket of Beverly, gouging itself on bills, stopping only to nod in assent to whatever Beverly happens to ask.

In a free country where Dave/Charlie have no power why are we having to "test" as you put it? Hmmmm this is a misconception or incorrect term....

It should not be illegal.... nor is it @ this point... but the SC could change all of that......


I do agree with you on your post however about the Gov being in BEV's pocket.... I musta typed so fast w/out thinking.... I meant it the other way around....

We need more people like yourself that are willing to speak up and out... make your voice heard....
