I want to buy the Mitsubishi HD receiver. I read in previous post that I must do a hardware fix to stop the receicer from receiving updates. Is this true if I use a HU cam ID and apply ZXT?
I am very concerned because I do not want the card to see the data stream if I must do the hardware fix first.
Thanks for all your help.

Fix was so you could use H card in new rec.,with HU cam zkt on H ,no problem.Anyhow the rec.will probably be winked from the factory, don't worry about it.

Thanks for the fast reply.
So it is my understanding that I can sign up with Dave now, then test later.

The hardware fix to stop updates applies to the early model RCA HD DTC-100 (version 3.72) that gets the 900's, and uses an H card cam id.

Hi,
Understand the receiver may be pre-winked, but is there a way to prevent future updates to the ird (similar to the plakner mod)? Wouldn't this prevent Dave from sending the potential "killer ECM" in the future?
Just wondering, because I have the Hughes E-86 (6th gen) that I would like to unwink and apply modified plakner mod.
Thanks!
