Of course, the Royal Bank will be dishing out royalities to our national police force for the privlidge of seeing them on our plastic $$$

Hi Risestar,
Yes and as usual I added my 2 cents worth for posting on the legal-rights.org site.
RCMP Cannot tell when they are in Conflict with INTELLIGENCE!!!
-
As they now have a cosy agreement with the ROYAL BANK, it seems a SAFE ASSUMPTION that the Royal Bank will now get away with murder. When will our past proud national police force “GET IT“. Being in “bed” with your favorite “big businesses” does NOT inspire confidence with the public.
-
It is WELL KNOWN that the police are subject to bribes and that LOTS of them take them, some getting quite RICH at it. While its coming out all over the place like in LA, we know it happens here too. You just havent got caught yet.
-
It has been shown in studies that many police are just “gutless Wanna be Criminals” who dont have the “cajones” to do what they REALLY want to do.
-
We the public, have little trust in the RCMP, especially since they sold their “promotional Rights” to disney and some say “their SOUL to DirecTv.
-
RCMP piss away so much money in investigations (spending needlessly on themselves, visiting Sunny California in Winter and eating fancy meals at public expence) and justifying this and other outrages that their trademark has now become that of “proficient BEGGARS” and “high livers”. Well the Royal Bank is a GREAT place to continue that, the biggest current tradition of the RCMP.
-
Gee, how do you convince them to go “door to door” selling magazine subscriptions, we could BOTH make a lot of money peppersprayers. Dont you have ANY SHAME in that “beggarly” force.
-
Whats the difference between “peddling credit cards“ for the Royall bank and selling magazine subscription’s door to door. Seems pretty much the same “GIG” to me. Just more potential for GRAFT in one of those persuits.

Critics question RCMP plan to sell credit cards
'Potential conflict'
-
Susan Lazaruk
The Province
-
-
The RCMP is selling Visa credit cards to its 22,000 members across the country in an attempt to raise money for the police force.
-
Critics say the partnership with the Royal Bank may be a conflict of interest and is a questionable use of a national, prided symbol.
-
The force says the credit card, called an affinity or co-branded card, raises money for its youth program which is designed to dissuade children at risk from becoming criminals.
-
The card will also be sold to the public through the RCMP and its Web site.
-
Depending on the level of interest, the RCMP estimates it could raise hundreds of thousands of dollars at a time when it is facing a shortage of money.
-
"This is disturbing," said Paul Palango, an Ontario author who has written two books on the RCMP, adding he is worried by the cozy partnership. "No one has thought this through. The police look like they're aligned with the powerful people in society. There's the perception [the bank] has an in with the police and they shouldn't have an in."
-
Jim Abbott, a Canadian Alliance MP (Kootenay-Columbia), said it is important that "our national police not only be free from potential conflict but be seen to be free from potential conflict."
-
If the Royal Bank was to be investigated by the RCMP, "people would be able to point to these cards and suggest there was [some conflict]," said Mr. Abbot, the Canadian Alliance solicitor-general critic.
-
"There isn't enough separation between the individual members, the bank and the force."
-
The RCMP defends the use of the affinity card, which is popular with charities, universities and special-interest groups that receive a percentage of the total purchase each time a card bearing its name is swiped.
-
Sergeant Greg Peters, who is in charge of lining up corporate sponsorships, stressed the RCMP is raising money to supplement, not supplant, government funding for its national youth strategy.
-
He said it is no different than Canadian Pacific and 3M sponsoring the RCMP's Musical Ride as they have for years.
-
"We don't expect that people will be upset; we expect there will be some individuals who have concerns."
-
The RCMP was at the centre of a national controversy in 1995 when it struck a five-year deal with Disney Canada to help the Mounties control and license the use of trademark images. That deal earned the RCMP almost $500,000, which was spent mostly on community policing.
-
Sgt. Peters says the sign up is optional and employee feedback has so far been positive.
-
However, one officer said he threw out the application. "I don't believe the RCMP should be doing this," said the Vancouver-based veteran officer, who did not want his name used.
-
"Why don't we use the proceeds of crime and pump it back directly into law enforcement and education?"
-
The police union has been supportive of the fundraising effort.
-
"I don't think it taints my objectivity as a constable," said Corporal Mike Funicelli, of the B.C. Mounted Police Professional Association. "The RCMP has managed to inject a lot of distance between the Royal Bank and the office of the constable."
-
Mr. Palango disagrees. "It's a sad state of affairs when we have our police force basically grovelling for money," he said.
I dont think they have a CLUE as to ethics.
