I just got a Hughes E86 High Definition reciever with an oval dish with 2 dual lnb's and the switch on the back. I previously had a round dish with a dual lnb. How should they be hooked up together to maximize signal strength and insure the ability to best pickup all 3 satellites.

The oval dish will not pick up all three satellites UNLESS you have a third LNB for the bird at 110.

As for wiring the existing two LNBs to the multi-switch, the dish manual shows how to do that.

What I would like to know is how to wire them up so that the oval dish points to 110 and 119 while the round one points to 101. I have heard that this maximizes your signal. Right now I'm only getting in the 70's on the 119 with the oval picking up both the101 and 119.

Apart from rain fade, as long as your IRD is locked on the signal, strength does not matter; it's digital, it's either on or off.

You might find some guidance at www.18inch.com (http://www.18inch.com) or http://www.geocities.com/dbs_tech/mdsapp/dsa8900e.htm for dish hookups.

Thanks for the links. the www.18 has some really good diagrams that I think will help. I live in a part of the country that has alot rain so it is important. I would also like to pick up another spot beam that might give me another time zone to watch Tom Brokejaw.

Use the multiswitch from the BIG dish and aim the 2nd 18 inch dish at the 119!!!! It will get much better signals this way.;) ;)

I hope this helps

OK, so I use the eliptical dish on 101 and 110. Then the round one on 119. Now how do I hook this up to the 5 wires for my 5 receivers. The eliptical has 3 lnbs on it and the round has a dual lnb.
