Bogus name, deceased credit card or money order purchaser. . . With no way to positively trace the purchase back to your "friend", it doesn't sound like he has much to worry about. If the street address (not including the addressee's name) the device was sent to was the same as your "friend's", that might raise some eyebrows, though. But DirecTV's lawyers would have a tough time making a case. The worst thing your "friend" could do would be to contact DirecTV's lawyers. Anyone who tries to match wits with a lawyer (with the possible exception of the dufusses in the public defender's office) deserves what he gets.
