Iam looking for the same info. I need reception for the colima area.
I understand that a 3 meter dish with an offset LNB should work, but no one knows how many channels can be received. Email me if you would like to share info.

Hi Pal,
Today I learned that Dish Net.. has put up a new satelitte that is alot more powerful. In my area I can receive the signal with a 1.2 meter dish, or 4 ft. This smaller dish will greatly reduce the cost.
So maybe dish is the way to go, I will know more later this week, Iam going to see it work, in the flesh.. So maybe we should check on fixes for dish.
My good friend is running the H card emu in the US and they are getting hit alot.
What do you think??

Where exactly in the Caribbean?

In San Pedro Sula, Honduras I have DTV-USA with a 1.8M (6') dish and get all transponders, though a few are weak at certain times of day.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but the type of card or emulation has nothing to do with signal strength. What works in the U.S. works in the Caribbean.

Hi stevexxx

That sounds great, what satelite are you hitting? 119?

And how many transponders are you getting?

Like 50? where did you ordered your 1.8 m dish from?
Your help is greatly appreciated....

Thanks

I'm on DTV-USA at 101. There are only 32 TP's of which 6 have been assigned to spotbeams, leaving 26. I get them all, but 4 or 5 go out at night.

The dish was bought from a local electronics store. They also sell RCA DTV receivers with HU card included, but I got my receiver online much cheaper.
