How do i specify animations?

I found a relly cool animated avatar. How do i:
1)Save it as an animation to my hardrive?? It only gives me the option to save it as a gif...
2)Why does the 'custom avatar' selection not work? I have selected (tested) a few and it always puts Betty up there. Yes, i do click the selection for custom avatar, and yes i have made sure that it is 100 X 100 pixels...which brings me to something else...Everytime i use photo editor to do this...it looks really small...i have seen other avatars that are bigger...What in the hell am i doing wrong??? Is the HYDRO finally affecting me brain???? ....ARRRRRGGGHHH...

Just right click on the gif and select Save Picture As and place it on your desktop. Then under User Profiles-->Edit Options click change avatar. Scroll down and hit Browse and choose the pic you saved to your desktop. Then make sure you click the YES(The database currently has the ....) right above the browse button.
