Hi, I am traveling to Whistler next month. My wife and I have valid passports. Can you tell me if my 8 and 11 year old children will need passports. I thought their birth certificates would work but a friend just told me that in light of 9/11 even kids need passports. Thanks in advance.

My kids (16, 13) both cruised the Carribean in January and only needed birth certificates.. in fact, non of the adults had passports either. Just photo id.

I traveled to Canada quite a bit. I was in the armed forces. All I needed to show, was my drivers license, insurance, and military ID.

Well, you'll love Whistler!!!!! Incredible skiing that can't be beat!
As to the passport thing, birth certificate, and valid photo ID for you and your wife, and I believe you only need birth certificate for children.
this is Canada Immigration's page on Visitor Visa's and requirements....take a peek and it should give you what you need! And welcome to BC!
