What is wrong with you sorry american people who feel it necessary to boo
my anthem.i am a proud canadian who's country went to war
with a country that was attacked not very long ago.
Now at a number of sporting events(raptors, leafs) games in
detroit & new york(i'm sorry long island, technicly new york but not really),the fans are booing our anthem so you can't even hear it.
Being at the leaf game friday night when we(the fans) stood up
& cheered the american anthem,i realized one thing.
: if you live in toronto you know how hard it is to get a leaf ticket in the playoffs.therefore i figure the people in toronto going to the games are the people with JOBS & LIVES & EDUCATION,and the people in new york(im sorry again, long island)& detroit are bottom feeding scum with no education & apparently no CLASS
YOU AMERICANS COULD LEARN A FEW THINGS FROM YOUR NEIGHBOURS TO THE NORTH. STARTING WITH MANNERS!!!
BTW:you have no problem coming to our web sites to get files> .

i think it started in detroit in the basketball game,& when the islanders started getting the snot beat out of them thier fans did it to. Just because a couple of guys get taken off on stretchers doen't meen we're all bad "lol.bring it on game 7.i'll be there cheering the anthem"s" again!!!!!
go leafs go
guess i won't get to see corson take any more blows to the head ,he's suspended

When it comes to certain sporting events you have to excuse the drunks and the rowdy folks, for they are just cheering for their home team. :D
But they will be first by your side in an attack.;)

At the Boston/Vancouver game last night they made an announcement to the crowd asking them to respect both teams national anthems. That's really #$%*ing sad. Makes you wonder why we don't teach basic manners in school. Then again, we really shouldn't have to teach that, should we? As an american, I'm truly embarrassed.

What's the point in booing during the Canadian anthem? 95% of the Islanders are Canadian, anyway........ignorant. BTW, "we" may enjoy the use of files from "your" websites but it's a whole bunch of "our" money that helps support those sites and this hobby, and buys all of the advertiser's wares to keep files up, so kindly stow that crap. I know you're pissed- I would be too, but I don't think you're venting at the right crowd.

Well, The Psycho says that this pisses me off!!!!!
As a Veteran on the United States military, i am embarassed about the actions of some of my American brethren. Americans always wonder why we are hated so vehemently around the world...Well, here is a good example why...Not to worry my fellow Canadian brothers...We Americans love our neighbours (like the way i spelled that?) to the North and will help you out any time that your country needs us, and i would imagine that most Canadians feel the same way about helping your friends to the South!
God Bless Canada!
God Bless the USA!

Of course I don't agree with the booing of your national anthem, and I know I'd be angry if anyone was booing the american anthem, but it's not cool to take shots at all of the US.

This pisses me off in so many ways, I don't know where to start. Before 9/11, patriotism was looked at as being almost corny. It's a shame that people had to die to revive it, but it is alive. If some folks decide to put a little plastic flag on their ride to express their patriotism, so be it....As far as our flag, MY flag, in any form, being called trash---you've already been told where you can go.

As a dual-citizenship Canadian / American living in Texas now after 27 years in Ontario, I have found this thread kinda interesting.
I've been to many Stars games down here and have yet to see the Dallas crowd boo Oh Canada.
The people booing the Canadian anthem are either a) just using the opportunity to boo the opposing team, which is typical and acceptable, or b) dumb as a post and probably acquired all their information about Canada from SouthPark - The Movie.
It's nothing personal. Deal with it.
A petty stab at calling the US flag trash is as mature as the people booing Oh Canada.

I have a U.S. flag on my work van, to show support for my nephew who is currently fighting the war on terrorism. I believe in what he is fighting against and what the U.S.A. is fighting for. THIS IS HIS LIFE AT STAKE.. WAY WAY different than flying a flag of a sports team.
Sports are just games.
Flying my flag shows my pride and my support. Nothing more, nothing less.

Fans in Montreal cheer U.S. anthem, but O'Canada booed in Florida
By The Canadian Press
Fans in Montreal cheered the American national anthem before the Canadiens' win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night, but O Canada drew steady booing in Sunrise, Fla., before the Ottawa Senators' victory over the Florida Panthers.
The applause in Montreal was a reversal from the booing that greeted the American anthem before Thursday's game against the New York Islanders at the Bell Centre. The fans' actions were reported on newscasts across North America with other manifestations of anti-war sentiment around the world.
The booing of O Canada in Florida prompted the Panthers to release a statement in which they expressed "regrets that a number of fans behaved disrespectfully during the playing of the Canadian anthem."
Also on Saturday, fans in Toronto cheered the U.S. anthem before the Maple Leafs' win over the Buffalo Sabres. The Star Spangled Banner was also greeted warmly in Edmonton before the Oilers beat the Washington Capitals, and in Calgary prior to the Flames' draw with the Nashville Predators.
As Charles Prevost-Linton began to sing the U.S. anthem in Montreal, one or two fans who tried to boo were quickly hushed by those around them.
Many fans sang along and there was enthusiastic cheering when Prevost-Linton finished.
A videotaped message from former Habs great Jean Beliveau was played on the scoreboard before the American and Canadian anthems.
The Hall of Fame centre and 10-time Stanley Cup winner did not ask fans not to boo. But he invited them to join in singing both the Canadian and U.S. anthems "to celebrate the game of hockey.
"During these difficult times, many have an opinion on world affairs," said Beliveau. "Nevertheless, the Montreal Canadiens have been proud to honour both Canada and the United States prior to games for over 50 years and they hope to maintain this outstanding display of sportsmanship."
After Thursday's game, Canadiens president Pierre Boivin issued a statement expressing "deep regret" for the booing

Fight with what? Canada's military is in a state of disarray. Hell, when we sent 700 troops to Afghanistan, we needed the US to get our equipment over there. The Gov didn't even bother equipping the troops with Desert Camo uniforms. They all stuck out like a sore thumb in their dark green duds.
It's a far cry from the way it once was. At the end of WWII, Canada had the fourth largest military in the world. 2.5 million personnel in a country populated by only 11 million people.

You have shown your true colors! You are obviously ignorant about most of what goes on in the world. I had more to say about that, but I am respecting BD's request to keep it civil.
Yes, our pilots hit your troops by accident, a truly terrible and deadly accident, but an accident nonetheless. Study any war and you will see many friendly-fire deaths occurring.
It is very hard to prevent friendly fire accidents in the heat of combat. Have you served? If not shut the F up and sign up. I don't know what basic training is like in Canada, but here you would realize that everything goes to sh1t in combat.
And showing your brilliance - we counted the votes just fine as the recount confirmed the original count. A candidate contested the results, so a recount was done. This candidate wanted to block those vote (absentee) that would be mostly against him and therefore took the issue much further than necessary. I am sure that Canada has self-serving politicians, so please don’t try to make one politician represent the entire US.

I am ignorant about what goes on in the world. You are obviously watching American TV and reading American books.Ask the protester in the US. They say Bush is not the real president. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!Still not sure about the vote. Your own American citizens!HAHAHAHAHA!
I am not the one who started this subject and I like the United States but I am not going to sit here and let uninformed people bad mouth CANADA. I studied lots of wars and it always seems to be the Americans shooting wildly. Now you are killing British troops.Patroit missles taking out planes that are returning from bombing runs. But they don't shoot down American planes. Hmmmmm! Not Acceptable! Maybe you need to bring in trained apes to shoot. They are using trained Dolphins to find mines. You guys need to learn to shoot straight. I guess thats why the best sharpshooters come from CANADA.Just like the best Hockey players and the best BEER. LOL. Funny how you don't hear of CANADIAN or BRITISH Troops killing Americans. I guess our aim is better. LOL. Buy the way I did serve so back off. When you become a Decorated Officer then let me know little boy!
NEVER!
I don't want this to get out of control and I will try to keep it civil but don't knock CANADA for not sending major forces to Iraq.We do things thru the UN and this is not backed by the UN. PERIOD.We do not follow anyone blindly.Even the almighty US.We make our own decisions. You can't buy CANADA!

My issue is not with Canada, what a nation chooses to support or not is that nations issue. I have issues with France and Germany only because they have their hand in the cookie jar.
My issue was with the friendly fire comments. The British just recently killed some British troops, so how do you explain that?
If you want to take this to a my country is a better aim pissing match just who is hitting who? I would think that the ones hitting something are the ones with the better aim. If you fire at freindly forces and don't hit then no one knows you screwed up in the first place. We may screw up and aim at the wrong thing but we hit it. We rely very heavily on our technology in combat, too much for my comfort. That reliance is the reason for the accidents, not who is a better shot. If you look at the accidents, you will see that most involved a malfunction on the IFF systems. When something is misidentified as an enemy assett, you take it out.
As to the best sharpshooters, I don't know because I don't really follow shooting matches. The best hockey players, just how the hell does a hockey player fit in this. The best beer is entirely a personal preference and also does not fit in.
You are taking this to a personal level with the 'little boy' comment. I did not say that you did not serve, I only questioned if you had. As decorated officer you should realize that things happen when in battle, you don't have the time to think everything over before acting and sometimes you make an incorrect choice. This part you did not respond to.
Just as you have issues with the Canadians who booed the the Anthem, the US has it's share of less than desirable residents. We both agree that the actions of a small but vocal minority within a country should not speak for the masses.
My comments went too far and you responded in kind. Let's leave it at that.

Lets drop this and move on. I retract the comment on Americans being the only ones killing friendly forces as per the lastest news. It had not been repoted at the time of the last posting. In closing all I have to say is I have the same problem with France and Germany.I believe that the United Nation just made a big mistake. They should have went into IRAQ long ago. I guess when you want something done riht you must do it yourself.
Don Cherry said it best. Now he is in trouble with the Canadian Government. HAHAHA. I beat he could give a rats a-- what they think.
I appoligize for the little boy comment. We are all on the same side. The side that stands for FREEDOM.
My prayers go out to the fallen soldiers but this was a cause worth fighting for.
GOD BLESS THE ALL THE COALITION SOLDIERS!
AMERICAN, CANADIAN, BRITISH, AUSTRALIAN and many more
