Hello All,
The lawyer responsible for the PAYPAL issue of freezing accounts is BILL MCKENZIE. You may all know that already.
Here is some more info in case anyone needs it:
He is a partner at:
Crawford McKenzie McLean & Wilford
40 Coldwater E, Orillia, ON L3V 1W3
(705)325-2753
He is also the same lawyer responsible for sending out letters way back when to Canadian dealers stating that he was representing DIRECTv in attempt to scare dealers into closing down.(Letters that many of us laughed at)
I spoke with his assistant this morning and she verified that he is indeed the lawyer representing BELL EXPRESS VU.
More Good News: We will be commencing our own lawsuit but unfortunatley, that is all I can say right now. BUT it will involve Mckenzie!!

My question is this concering payf**ks, i can understand the freezing of funds if they were accepted after the supreme court hearing and ruling. That I can accept, it's the funds that were accepted before the ruling, I read it in another thread, you can not enforce the law retroactivly, can you? So, would paypal not have to release these funds if pressured from a more knowledgable person than myself? This make sense to anyone else? Shut my account off, take my $ that I got after the ruling, but leave the rest the F**K ALONE!
Just my 2 cents on the matter :(

TTRK posted that because of the SC ruling, it meant it was always illegal.
But paypal has always been picky and I am sure alot of there fees came from DSS stuff being sold.

Well we have known about Mckenzie for five years. There are alot of posts here in this forum on that subject matter.
My guess would be to sue him on what he did.

Hi People,
Bill McKenzie sent PayPal a letter stating it was illegal to view foreign encrypted Satellite signals in Canada from what I understand. What has that to do with your PayPal account? I cannot verify it but I do not think it was from any legal process at ALL.
Quite honestly people need to know your rights. Most places have small-claims courts and they range from a maximum of $1000.00 to around $5000.00. If the amount that was seized was under the limit where you are then sue them BOTH for the maximum (just under it) and you will see them releasing your money very quickly.
Does anyone think PayPal want to appear in 100 small claims courts across Canada? How abouut McKenzie, that will keep him quite busy in small towns all across Canaada.
The judgement you get from these courts is just as valid as what you get from any court.
It would be useful if many did this instead of complaining about what was done. You can do it yourself without a lawyer for a filing fee of $10.00 to perhaps $50.00 maximum. Do it right away and I believe they will release your money and close your account right away. They certainly wont want to send lawyers into hundreds of small claims courts across Canada. But if they DONT then you will get default judgements.
People USE THE RESOURCES and TOOLS that you have. Just go down Monday and file against both paypal and Bill McKenzie. That will keep him busy running to small claims courts for months and his Insurance company paying out the amounts you sue for.
If someone files say in Kelona BC and Cornerbrooke Newfoundland, he has to attend these places at great cost. 100 Suits will keep him busy for a long time and if he does NOT attend you will win a default judgement and you CAN collect.
Lets just DO IT and report that you have filed in this thread so we will know where he will be busy running.http://www.legal-rights.org/images/ttrk.gif
Who you sue is Paypal and:
Crawford McKenzie McLean & Wilford
40 Coldwater E, Orillia, ON L3V 1W3

William McKenzie is his name and he has a web site at:

Actually the correct name of the firm is (now):
Crawford, McKenzie, Mclean, Wilford, Anderson & Duncan LLP
P.O. Box 520
40 Coldwater Street East
Orillia, Ontario
(705) 325-2753
This "name change" was done recently, in part to protect his partners against any claims made against him, such as the two ongoing lawsuits here in Manitoba which he has yet to notify his insurers of (big no no!). Sad news for his partners is that these lawsuits were commenced prior to the LLP status, so they are still completely liable. Should be interesting if NDS goes bankrupt due to Canal+, and the lawfirm and partners become the easiest defendants to collect our lawsuit from. Especially since ExpressVu continues to lose money.
So if you are going to sue McKenzie and co., be sure to use the correct firm name because that could be a technicality that would make any default non-collectable (against the firm and partners at least).
