However there is a good posibility that IF the apeal on injunctio in Ontario is won tommorow, then the quebec prosecutor can make a deal with our lawyer accepting it...

So go Ontario and make us all proud.

figures quebec! i have NOTHING against our french friends, BUT this is a province who wants to be their own country!

is ontairio the ONLY province in canada that has balls and stands up for rights? we will see soon! sure hope BC comes through as well! that would be HUGE!

unbelievable. In the RJ Reynolds case, they were granted an injunction allowing them to continue to advertise. And this is a compnay that costs taxpayers BILLIONS in health costs. I guess we don't have enough bribe money.
The sad thing about Canada is the politicians don't even bother to hide their corruption. They could take a stack of bills right on the steps of Parliament and it would probably be news for 2 days before it was forgotten.

As far as I have been informed (second hand info)the judge said she could not see the immediate need for the temporary injunction. This means she has not seen any storm trooping and shutting down of businesses as yet, so there is not immediate need to grant the temporay injunction, as there will be another date set for a more permanent injunction that will then hold until the courts rule on the Charter Issue. This I have been toild will happen in approx a week.

If Ontario does extend the injunction to stay any police actions until the courts can rule on the Charter issues, Quebec may be able to be convinced to also adopt this stance. So yes as much as this is not what we all would like to hear, it is not as dark as it at first appears.

Lets all keep our hopes up and wait to see what Ontario does tomorrow. I will feel a lot better if we are extended there and then lets hope, then that the lawyers can reason with the crowns in all provinces to accept theis as being the case nation wide.

Just on another note, Have you donated anything to these events? You should not count on others being able to maintain all thse actions that are partly on your behalf without your assistance. Please get out the cheque books and donate, and do it immediately if not sooner.

I'm troubled with her decision. I heard from another dealer that the RCMP shut down 2 downtown shops last monday (I can't confirm, I don't know the dealers who got shut down, so don't flame me)

Once a again we stand a "distinct society". What was to be expected from a gov't and justice system that rigs referendums in their favor.

Lets see what happends tomorrow in ON.

Not correct as they are only going to set a date this Friday.. maybe June

The Judge said there was a serious debate yet to be heard that being the consitutional question however she said that the balance of convienence was more important to the Public as respecting the Supreme Court Decision versus the irrepitable harm to the Plaintifs.

I have no idea how she came to that conclusion as it makes no sense to me as what buisness would be left if the RCMP executed raids and if down the road a judge may say the law is unconstitutional what good it would be to the buisnesses that were irepitably harmed.

Just a couple of concerns here..

If Ontario gets a permanent injunction, how, or will that affect Quebec and the rest of the provinces?

The way I see it is, Ontario's outcome plays a huge roll here.

What will happen if Ontario does not get the injunction granted? Then what?

We should all be concerned if Ontario does not get the injunction granted. From that point on it will be open season on everyone, and sites such as this. Just even helping someone with a problem could constitute an offence. It is not a pretty picture, but you can bet it is the one that Bell Expressvu will try to make happen.

Now that Quebec has denied the injunction, it is even more imperative that we get Ontario on side. It is the one hope we have at getting things to be reasonable. I am afraid that if the injunction is not granted, there will not be much left, even if we won on the charter issues. It seems real easy to us that BEV wants to wipe us out before we can make the charter arguements. Lets just pray the Ontario Court grants the injunction extension. Also get up off our asses and donate, as it will all be for not, if we can not pay for the lawyers.
