View Full Version : What happens to all the donations if we lose?

Lets not start a flame war and be adults here.
1.What happens to the donations that everybody made "In Trust" if we lose tommorow, god lets hope we don't.
2. I have seen 3 seperate posts about where to send donations, First post was by Ttrk and he says make everything "In trust" but specifys to nobody that I noticed. Kalyna after writing an email to Mr. Angus I think his name is was told to make all donations "In trust Ian Angus" and then yet a third person says they should be "In trust Alan Gold" , can somebody please clear up the confusion and why 3 seperate people are asking for the donations to be made "In trust", how does all this work and if by chance we get bad news tommorow and 1/50 of all donations are used then what happens to all the rest?
3. Without clarification people are gonna start to wonder what is going on here as myself I am confused about all this, I have made a "In trust" donation but wonder now how many others also did and what happens with bad news tommorow? Will we simply be told all that has been donated is deserved by those collecting whether we win or lose or will it somehow be refunded? If so I disagree to other comments saying some collectors deserve las vegas forr a weekend or steak and wine on my donation, I donated to help fight this not for someone else to eat steak I'm sorry.
4. Please lets be adults and have some explanation on this without fighting amongst ourselves or we will never win this, I think these are legitimate questions that should be answered without the fighting and bad words.

that's a GOOD question! i would assume that the funds would go to the legal team on our side. win or lose a case the lawyers ALWAYS get paid. i can see how one would think, a loss means funds are NOT needed for future court battles.
tomorrow will answer alot of questions

What you are saying is legal-rights will just give our donations to some lawyer win or lose? If it costs lawyer $20000 to appear tommorow, which I don't imagine it will and legal-rights has collected let's say $50000 they will just send this money to the lawyer as a bonus? This kinda sounds a bit fishy to me but who am I to question, I'm just another donator that should not be informed of this as it is purely irrelevant correct?
Thank you sugar ray for agreeing this is GOOD question I think should be explained to all donators otherwise I think there will be alot of bad blood in this community if answers are brushed off or we are bluffed in any way, lets have the real facts of this please and if someone knows how all this "In trust" works and who is entitled to these funds then speak now forever hold your piece.
If said funds are virtually blank as in my donation with only the "In trust" with no name then who actually profits shall we lose or will the money be dispersed and refunded to a select group of donators? I think this is legitimate concern of many here and we should discuss like mature adults with no power tripping, name calling and overall trying to make anybody out to look bad because they are simply asking or giving their view and are entitled to an opinion without fighting with others , I can accept critism but also would like the real facts and no smoke and mirrors, thanks.

Hi blastradius,
Can't you guess. We are going to ask the lawyers to give us a refund because they lost and we are going to send you to ask for it.
This is not something that needs a fight or quibble with a person making his very first post and who ostensibly joined in the last 10 days. But you HAVE raised my curiosity as to who you REALLY are.
But to be really honest, its not a really bright question.
Firstly how much did you donate to be worried about that or have you donated yet?
Secondly the battle is FAR from over IF we do not get an Injunction if that is the case. If you have any legal knowledge you would understand that we will still get this before a court as quickly as possible. There is obviously a "strong issue to be tried" in part because the Supreme Court says so. But more importantly because they have infringed the rights of Canadians.
If we were to lose tomorrow we will still be taking the issue to the court. The constitutional issue is NOT even before the Injunction court, that is simply to request an Injunction to prevent enforcement BECAUSE there is a "serious issue here to be tried." If we DO NOT get the injunction it will simply be because the judge does not believe they will enforce it immediately and the court has no evidence of that. Courts usually rule on EVIDENCE but here we have requested something different.
Frankly that would be somewhat correct because what we are asking for here is a judgement that anticipates something that has not happened yet thus it is difficult to show any prejudice to us since it has not happened yet. But it will and we can then go back to the court with a different "fact set".
But this and all court issues are not "ask for a refund if we lose" deals and we have collected about $3,000 dollars so far out of an estimated $56,000.00 spent on lawyers so far and not billed by the lawyers yet.
Is that something you think we should worry about when we are $53,000.00 or more short of paying the past bills, let alone tomorrows?
Sorry, but the question is a bit inane but I will be pleased if you let me know the amount you are worrying about. Our record low donation so far is a person who gave $1.50 (yes a dollar fifty cents) but that person may well be unemployed or have a reason to donate that and offer whatever assistance it will provide. I am NOT negative to it and I thank all the donators so far. But we need to speed it up a bit since we are some $53,000.00 short of paying the bills so far.
Just so people KNOW, Mr. Ian Angus, who is my personal lawyer in all my cases, is not assisting this issue at all and kalyna should mind his own business as he has now created a problem and some people may listen and send money to the wrong party, a lawyer who declined to act in these Injunctions (and was asked first) but was away building in Florida and could not be here in time.
We needed to file in three provinces it is in fact OTHER lawyers that are handling these issues of Injunction and NOT Mr. Angus. He is my personal lawyer and a great lawyer but why not send money to some lawyer in "armpit alabama" since he would have precisely the same interest as Mr. Angus in this particular Injunction request based on the Supreme Court Challenge of the constitutional matters. Mr. Angus is a real expert at that and may well undertake the battle at a later date but he is not involved at all right now.
Later Mr. Angus may act for others as well (Myself or Dean Love for example) in this but currently he has no role whatsoever.
All donations should be sent to Legal-rights in Trust as is clearly indicated on the legal rights site at:
Please DONATE for the SUPREME COURT ANTI-CENSORSHIP BATTLE (http://www.legal-rights.org/donation.html)
I hope this clears up your misconceptions about that we have collected too much and just to let you know we have also not met the amounts for the previous loss in the supreme court challenge by some $40,000 to $50,000.00 which was paid by Mr. Incredible at this point so that Mr. Gold would stay on the case.
Very FEW have donated but I would like to thank a well known poster here "JEET" who gave a very generous donation today out of the 4 people who did donate. He and one other donator have donated OVER 2/3 of the total with the other third having been made by the other donators. I think you all and I hope we will see some good results.
Perhaps you should try some other worry rather than this one if you are the type who likes to be worried about somethinghttp://www.legal-rights.org/images/ttrk.gif
Pardon my shortness but I personally BORROWED and donated more than the ENTIRE donations for this so far so I am not overly encouraged nor willing to answer to this type of silliness which I am sure you dont think it is. Your time could be much more productively spent in trying to HELP raise some funding rather thanmaking these comments here on your very first ever post.
Instead do you have any idea's on HOW to raise some funding for this Constitutional issue? That would help if you do. Right now we are $47,000.00 short of your thoughts of $50,000.00 collected.
But then I see you are using a PROXY of "proxy.westend.com" so that we cannot determine who you really are. But then I suspect you are the OPPOSITION who comes here to SPY. I doubt you even donate to the RED CROSS.
