Last week I recieved a certified letter from a lawyer in Texas representing DSS. It seems that a dealer in Calif. was busted and all of his past records were turned over to DSS. They hired this lawyer to "make it right" for them. They had info that I purchased an unlooper from them on exact date, monetary cost, shipping date, etc,. This lawyer stated that this unlooper can only be used for illegal purposes, there for I am up for fine of $3000. to $10,000 for the use of it. They would possibly suspend the fine if I would "rat" on other pirates! Anybody else get one of these letters? It gives a number to call and the lawyer calls back (at his leisure). I refused to give him anything about anybody and did not even admit to any wrongdooing. He said he would get back with me later, that it was a felony! So much for destroying records etc (the purchase was for almust a year ago!

Hello,
I've never really spent much time here. A friend of mine was just sent one of those nasty letters. She won't post here for fear of the lawyers getting info from the Pirate's Den.
My question: Anyone in Wisconsin got the letter and has anyone retained a lawyer to fight this stuff. She could use one.
She needs to know.

cant the arguement be raised that an unlooper can actually repair a damaged card for legal use? I mean, last time i needed a card(sub) they wanted money for it, with no guarantees it wouldnt get damaged again.
Or, another arguement, kinda like a machine gun. you can own the peices, but you cant put them together.
