Hey everyone. I'm in the process of hooking up a new plasma set to my home. I've got a Futuresmart 8-DBS splitter, which allows 8 separate signals off this.
I haven't been able to receive HD programming, and when I run autoconfigure, the system changes from an Oval 2 to a simple round setup.
After a call to tech support from futuresmart, they mention that unit will not receive HD programming because of a "22 khz signal", but would be more than happy to sell me a new distribution panel for $585.
Does anyone know of a better (more affordable) option for me to receive HD programming, and be able to have a minimum of 6 receivers?
Thanks for all your help in advance!

Matt

Yes there are multiswitches availble much cheaper to do what you want. But back to your HD problem take one the two cables from your oval dish out of your 8 way multiswitch that does not work anyway, and put it into your HD satelite box or does your tv have a built in decoder and you do not even have a HD direct tv sat box.

Mdiehl,I have to say first that Futuresmart sells some real nice looking but no doubt pricey equipment. But tell them to forget about the $585 distribution panel. You dont need it for what you want to.All you need for what you are trying to do is a 5x8 satellite multiswitch and you're away.I would recommend the EagleAspen 5x8 which lets you cable up for two sats and up to 8 irds. Not to mention it will be a LOT cheaper than what youre into right now. Here's a look at EagleAspen's Model# S-4180-GX(no extra "panels" required) ..................>

His problem is he only has 2 lines coming from dish 1 going to HD box said he can't run any more cable because construction enclosed interior cables.May have to have multi switch outside or near dish.
