I have a dish500 satellite dish. I recently got a used direct Tv reciever and card. Can I use the dish500 dish with the direct TV system. If so what should the skew be set to. And if I can't what should I look for in a direct TV dish...single/dual. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

You can use the dish500 dish to pick up dtv signal, but if the lnb's are connected to a multyswitch for dish ie(sw21) it wont.

Just connect the lnb directly to rcvr use the 119* lnb, as for the skew goes it it used to pick the second sat @ 110 in dish and i havent tried to pick up both on dtv.

I use dish lnb for dtv and vise versa all the time and works fine.

You have to find your coordinate from your zip code in the installation/signal menu.

Just turn the volume up on tv so you can hear when signal is rcvd and have someone help you with that once is set you wont have to mess with again.

Hope this helps you if you still havent tried it....Agss

Thanks guys, I hooked only the 119 LMB up to it and removed the SW21. I adjusted the skew so the dish sits upright...not sure if this is right. I have Memorex reciver and when I go to the installation screen I'm not sure which transponder to type in to get a signal strength. If anyone has any ideas, I appreciated them. As you may have noticed, I didn't recieve a users manual with this reciever. So if there is any other advice you might have I would be open to it.

Thanks again
Chris
