Do DTV have records of someone had browsed and downloaded on testing web sites in the past and then use it in court along with sale records from busted vendors.

Ebay purchases, can they have those records and use them in courts?

Ebay purchases, can they have those records and use them in courts?Of course they can. EBay is obligated by law, to cooperate with law enforcement, and they do so without hesitation. No different that VISA/Mastercard, banks, financial institutions, etc.

The only “grey area” with regards to Ebay is that Ebay does not know with 100% certainty if you ever completed a transaction. That would be strictly between you and the seller. However, if you used PayPal, BidPay, or any of the alternative electronic methods of payment… then there is a paper trail that they can use to confirm the follow through of your transaction.

As to the other part of your question about browser records… it is quite possible that they were able to obtain records along those lines… but that would be a very tough sell in court, since it is easy to forge I.P.’s, spoof them, or even borrow another’s I.P. to do your surfing. Pretty difficult to prove exactly WHO was using that browser to surf with.

Its unlikely that they have records of most people. But I have seen people BOAST of STEALING TV on sites and I suspect they DO have records of those idiots. When they see people make admissions they likely downloaded that data, tracked it down and kept it in a database.
