WORD GAME REMOVAL PETITION &game!

my god .... It used to be that you could come to the BS forum and see people talkign politics and having conversations about almost anything. now it has become a haven for people to constantly numb their brains on replying with a word that reminds them of a word or some other word association games. I am not mad at people for doing this type of activity its just that it seems to cause peoples real BS post to get lost under all the well for lask of a better word BS.

I am there fore starting a petition to have a word game section created. and these word game posts moved. I know there are much more important things that Rise and other admin could be doing but it would make at least one pirate happy. If there was another petition started for this type of removal of word games that has allready been started it just furthers my point that these "games" move the other topics off the initial menu to fast.

anyway , I am restating that the games are ok to do but just move them or something. IF you would like to sign this petition just mention so below in a post...

AND TO GET MORE PEOPLE TO SIGN UP LETS MAKE A GAME OF IT THINK OF A WORD THAT YOU ASSOCIATE WITH PETITION.....

Let me put this in my perspective...When I first came to the Den I didn't know anything..I spent alot of time not getting any answers to my newbie questions...I found the BS forum with it's games and fun thoughts..I added my 2 cents to the mix and after awhile my name got recognized and answers to my questions were pouring in from names in the BS forum..It's quite daunting to a new person to get into a click so to speak..It is far easier to post in the games without having someone answer you back directly...And soon friends are made and you feel more at home here..At least it worked that way for me...

The Games IMHO are a nice break after reading through the forums for hours !

I have no problem the way it is,it really is simple.
If you start a new thread that gets more replies, then it stays at the top.
The games stay at the top because folks reply to them,if they did'nt want the Games then they would drop off.
Anyway it is up to Rise and the other Admins but let the people speak,I'm sure it would be no problem for a Game forum if that's what the rest want.
The games are nothing but BS anyway for the most part(No Offense Foxy) I think they belong here.

Actually, you can still find those threads - browse through These Kids These Days # 2 / Backyard Wrestling (http://www.dsschat.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=129748) and you'll see a pretty good example of a wandering thread, with some seriousness, some BS, and a whole lotta fun. ;)

sure aint like it used to be in there, but the games are probably right were they belong,
u just have to remember things change, some for the better some for the worst, some people think this site has changed for the better, are they wrong? are the people that think this place went down hill wrong? for example TV programs, the stuff happenning on TV today would never have been on TV a Few years ago, what happened? things change, for the better (for some) for the worst (for others), the moral of the story is, u cant make everyone happy so why try?
my suggestion would be to, fill the B.S. forum up with all the B.S. u want,(thats what its here for) try to bring back some funny news, jokes and real B.S. again (maybe a game or 2 of your own) and try to co-exist with the Gamers, Dont split the B.S forum, the gamers are B.S. people too, the games are just a different form of B.S. :)

The games actually aid in keeping the brain sharp, which enables us to do the things that this site was originally intended for.

I know what you are trying to say, friend. But we all love the game and foxy and friends for creating them. no matter what you can still post all that other stuff you want and get alot of replies. But for me i play them while im waiting inbetween posts and it kills time. I hope you understand where we are comming from. join in and Have fun

I think the games are where they belong. They got my attention and I found them to be interesting and even participated in them. There may be too many running at one time, kind of takes up the majority of the page. However if people were'nt replying to them they would not take up so much of the page. Therefore, people like the games. Like they say, if you can't beat them, play the games.

its not that i dislike the games but they seem to have over run everything... and it is far easier to reply fast with a one word post that with a actual response to something with thought, thus the real thought posts get moved away from the top of the stack quicker... but whatever.

my new goal is to keep this thread at the top of the deck! (without a sticky, well at least for now, and thanks for the offer crownvic)

Not always - bankruptcy can also mean "reorganization" and protection from creditors. A well financed bailout could have WorldComm back on top within a few years. In that case buying now would be a very smart thing to do.

I agree with you 2gapa. As a worldcom stock holder the main thing right now is to stay put. Matter of fact I bought several when they were at $0.19. I guess I got even when was given stock by Worldcom and was able to exercise options at $68. I work for another company just like Worldcom that I have already lost $10,000 in stock on not to mention 401k.

Back to the subject at hand though, the games are a good deterrent from the endless threads on DSS. Sometimes a break is just what we need and these games and the BS forum gives us that. This allows us to refresh our minds and get back to the DSS threads and helping out where we can on them.

as far as them coming back yes in alot of bankruptcies and things of that sort sometimes the stock/debt is renegotiated owever sometimes it is cleared completely... and i beleive i was readign that worldcom is wiping the slate clean. thus in a matter of months the current stock will be worth 0.
