If the only real problem we feel here is weather games should be allowed in the BS forum then we have no problems...I dare you to look into the American and canadian Freedom Forums....There are some real things happening under our noses..just look thru TTRK's postings..He's not crazy or being overdramatic..Members are being harrassed to death by DTV..These aren't just faceless blips on a screen, they're our sisters and brothers, fathers, family...Dave is politically and finacially killing us with baseless lawsuits and threats of lawsuits...No evidence given or burdon of proof..People are strongarmed into signing consent of wrongdoing papers that in our country open them up to further litigation after the fact!!!!It would be a crime in any other country and a travesty here...
For God's sake they bought Canada!! They came in and invaded with the only weapon for which there is no defense....MONEY...No weapons of mass destruction, tanks ,smart bombs...They left no ruins in their wake, only the human misery masked in market share...We should be ashamed!!!

In olden times people would bond together to fight a common foe..We have ours (DTV)I guess no one fears DTV, well I'll give you my version of scared straight..
Some say it's only dealers getting hammered, but I beg to differ...Joe Smith breaks his family's savings to pay $3500 and is branded a thief the rest of his life...Forced to knuckle under the weight of a prohibitively expensive court battle.. This is wholly Unamerican and wholly uncanadian...We sit back and watch as others are hung out to dry while we nest in the shadows praying our rock is never kicked over..I guarentee you won't like what the light shows you..
Today freedom is petaled in dollars by large multi-national corporations and we were bought and sold a long time ago..I ask you what is the price for human expression?????

I hate to think only my friends would reply because they know me..What set me off was a post in the newbie forum yesterday..This poor guy was scared sh!tless..He received a letter and his lawyer spilled the beans to DTV's lawyers about his possition of an iso programmer..Now he's screwed..the posts go on for miles in the freedoms forums..Everyone here should check the freedom forums to cover their butts!!!

Hi Guys,

There is "economic terrorism" that is going on that is worse than Al-Quida and its affecting almost everyone in this community. And I am sure they read these forums and see that people are scared and love it.

People need to cancel subs and return their receiver to where they bought it from and tell Best Buy or whomever what kind of terrorism they have got people mised up with by selling these units. If enough people make a fuss with the vendors and there are enough cancellations, then perhaps something will happen. But right now its a crying shame.

They lose 3K off their evaluation for each sub that cancells so people should make it a VOW to have at least 5 others cancel and go to the competition to make sure that this stops. Well, I can concur with TTRK here 110%.....This is why he has been fighting for so long, and why some of us are trying to help him and the others involved! This is not a silly or small insignifigant battle, but something that can effect all those who are involved here. After the last supreme court ruling, how many websites shut down? How many companies quit? There were significant numbers that did, and that is when we still have the ability to appeal the decision based on charter issues......

Now, what happens if we loose again.....You can bet the face of this will change dramatically, and the only people we can truely blame our ourselves for not becoming involved with this.

I also read that post yesterday. However, I was really interested in how the lawyer phrased it. If the lawyer stated that "yea, my client has a programmer" or "yea, my client has a programmer and uses it to hack DTV". To me there is a big difference. The first statement does not mean that the guy was using it for anything illegal, he just has one and it is up to DTV to find evidence that he is using it for stealing signal. Personally, if I was the guy, I would fight it. If the lawyer said the second statement, I would sue the stupid lawyer. What a dumba**!

And Bone Daddy, you are right. Everyone needs to read that forum everyday. It can happen to any one of us.

No Problem Bone Daddy !

I read in that forum almost everyday ! And I always leave it with that sick feeling right in the pit of my stomach ! TTRK is right and I will be the first to say that I have and have encouraged others to cancel there sub's (cable ain't so bad yeah right) and I try very hard not to purchase ANY GM products(That's hard cause GM makes alot of things) But some how Dtv has to be shied off and I think cancelling subs is a step in the right direction !

i follow the legal forums everyday..

alot of people are choosing to fight DTV. and they should there are a couple of classactions from what i understand that both people that have not settled and those who have allready settled can participate in.

It is scary I am honestly expecting a letter at somepoint even though my legitimate purchase was made from electronics company that has yet to be "busted"...

what is really scary is I have seen people mention the only thing they bought was a power adapter or lnb or somesuch from a busted dealer and they are getting the letter.

one fellow has also gottne 2 seperate letters one after he allready settled, this makes it clear tht Dave is haphazardly attacking people without proper proof...
it also appears that most people that hire a lawyer get off and or dave does not pursue it any further.
