Why? Why must this happen?? I was just in the HU discussion Forum, and sumone asked a straight forward question. Here comes the obligatory scumbag and commences to read him the riot act...the dude didn't ask fer a step by step...as a matter of fact he asked for "a point in the right direction..." Why do the azzholes come out when a question is asked...why do they bother even responding? What happened to the times when a flame got ya a warning, and a second one got ya to the reading club? Damnit...this is supposed to be fun.....I will get off my soapbox now....Sum of these folks have to realize that this is the purpose of these forums FOR HELP and discussions...sum of you guys need to go get laid or sumthin and release the tension, cause it's starting to wear off, and no, i 'ain't saying the Den sucks, just some of the ELITEST egos around here do...

I was reading too and then it turns to muck..

I think some pepole with low self esteem feel better if they can somehow hurt or belittle someone else. It's thier nature and we have to pencil that in.

More and more of the more knowledgable folks here at the den are seen jumping ship because some stupid flamers don't know how to shut up. I think we all need to step back and remember that we were all newbies at one point and unless you know everything then you still are at some level and we need each other in order to expand our knowledge or else we all are just digging ourselves a deeper hole.

Eventually this place will only be a newbie place because those that know half of anything will have moved on. At that point then what good is a place like this when we have newbies asking each other the same questions because no one has the answers? I find myself avoiding all of the other forums here except the BS one. That's the only one I get any enjoyment from.

Don't think I'm, right? Look at the number of new posts in recents days in the newbie section. It seems folks are scared to post anymore.

Congratulations Flamers! Here's hoping you are going to have a question to ask here soon and get NOTHING but a taste of your own medicine.

I am seeing many Den regulars including Mods on other sites.

People have posted against flaming and someone says 'ignore it.' It should not be ignored. The thread on Rom Glitching at innerm used to be an every day thing here at the Den. The flames in the P4 section are beyond opinion and should have never been allowed. Things change and change again. Hopefully, this will too.

I agree with all of you. Why don't the mods take a stronger stand when it comes to flamers? It would help this site to get it under control. It is like the mods don't give a $hit anymore. This hobbie has changed alot and so has this forum. I think the Den is a great site, I wish it was more under control sometimes........

Wow, glad I checked this out. I didn't slam the guy once with any personal remarks, others did me thou. I answered his question and acknowledged that I was wrong in the way i did so. Now i pop in her and the guy has it started again. I love it when people sit behind their computers and try to judge others. I didn't call him lazy, stupid, or anything else that attacked him personally. Read the stupid thread, I was trying to make things right and was getting slammed back in return. I know your probably all friends with this guy, that's fine. Do you see me starting crap in others forums when I have a problem with someone? Heck no. Why? Because I figure i'll take care of it personally and not try to stir things up with everyone else.

You all can start flamming me all you want now, just remember your now down with what you beleive me to be, "A sh*t starting flammer".

Again, I answered his question. I tried to make right what i did wrong. If you all still want to drag things on than so be it.

Good Day

I've made a decision....it's my personal vendetta against flamers.....not you... i know you apologized ...so does everyone that reads my posts.....for the record all,....Interegon has apologized.....i rettract my remarks about you ...let;s just turn this place back into what it was...friendly and concientious about what it promotes....LEARNING AND A FRIENDLY , FUN ATMOSPHERE....'nuff said! hey guys , I think that we all lose our cool from time to time. Some alot more than others though. Psycho I just want to say that I'm proud of the way you handle yourself here at the den. I'm also proud of the den. Guys, tensions run high here way too much anymore and its just not worth it. Cause at the end of the day, none of us care about tv or dave, admit it, you prob got into this for tv, then it outgrew you and pretty soon you quit watching it. Thats what its all about, having fun. If its not fun anymore then why do it. We were all new once, and yes we all read our asses off, but can you think of a time, if even just one that one push in the right direction despite reading would have saved you that card, or caused you not to loop that sub. Any little thing. Maybe it saved you hours of reading, maybe it was one little thing you didnt get. Thats what makes us great. Doesnt it make you feel good when you jump in there with that post that shows you put your homework in? To you it might be activation. To the guy you helped you're a god for that instant. No need to ever flame. There are times when I dont feel like helping or posting. So I just sit back. There are times when I say well that was a dumb question, but I say it and go on never posting because I asked dumb questions before too. Problem with things lately is $$$$. Money has caused greed and fear, and corruption and lies. Noone wants to help someone learn cause thats less $$$ that can be made off them. I dont know about you guys, I pay a sub, but I damn sure aint gonna pay some dealer to do a card for me. I dont need it that bad. If it was about the tv, I would just pay the sub and forget it. LOL
Anyways you guys take care and lets all try to act a little more like psycho. We can learn alot from him. Liquid_Edge

Man I just read the title(you know I don't read the posts) I thought you guys were talking about Moulan Rouge on PPV the other day!!My bad...hey psycho I wouldn't be poking fun at the flamers with the way you dress..LMAO..And there I paid all the attention this topic deserves..If your thin-skinned this forum is not for you..I was tortured when I first got here and I learned who to and who not to listen to...Take it with a grain of salt(and a few Coronas) and all will be well...

There are a handful of mods here, who by the way, do this completely on a volunteer basis. We are not paid and as a matter of fact we all pay our yearly dues to have access to the Pirate Den members forums like everyone else. There are over 100,000 registered here at dsschat so a certain amount of things are going to not be seen by a mod until it has gotten out of hand. I also would like to say that I resent your implying that the mods here don't give a crap. Since all of us have full time jobs and some work more than 5 days a week the time that can be spent here is sometimes limited. I personally have sent quite a few flamers to the reading club. In a few extreme cases they get banned and if they persist by coming back and logging in under a new name then stronger measures are taken. I will step down from the soapbox as I think I have ranted enough.

Ive vowed to never post in this place again. But this needs to be said. I love this place and all the great people here but there are a couple of had fulls of people that are ruening it for all of us. And they stated it openly that if they can get rid of the fre loaders and newbies (as they call them) and this place is a ghost place they would be very happy. I think they know who they are. I see a few threads have been closed and a couple of trouble makers have been kicked out maby the mods are taking back there forums. Lets hope so.

Psycho, nice thread;)

I would also like to say sorry to every one that read that comment i made in the hu forum the other day. It wasnt called for!

Just let me say that the correct procedure "if you see Flaming" is to report it to an Admin or Mod of that forum.
If you take it upon yourself to handle the situation then you are simply adding fuel to the fire. It's impossible for a Mod or Admin to catch everything and by the time they have sometimes it's out of control. I won't even comment to the User that implied that the Mods don't give a ####.. Do your part and Report the thread to a Mod.
Later.

Hey Vic...how ya doin'? I understand protocol, but there are no Mods listed as moderating the HU discussion forums...You see 'em listed here in the BS forum, but not there. This is why i took it upon myself....my apologies fer doing so. I appreciate the fact that the MODS have alot to do and alot to sift through, but a couple have left in the past few weeks. Has there been any thought kicked around about adding a couple more Mods, or a Master at Arms? Like i said, most here appreciate the hard job it is to be a Mod, and i for one am up to helping. We should all "self-moderate" ourselves, but unfortunatly, not everyone will play nice. I understand that Modding is a thankless job, and you guys (and gals, blcjet) have my fullest respect. Once again, i apologize for taking things up on my own, and unless "unleashed", The Psycho will notify the nearest Moderator. Thanks all...fer yer attention. Peace.

Well a Site Admin can go in any forum, the BS mods can only deal with issues in the BS Forum.

Just cause they are not posting in them forums does'nt mean to say they are'nt there.;)

There needs to be a new forum created. It can be hidden. Members who flame other members will get sent there instead of to the reading club. It will be a free-for-all in there. No rules. It could be called "The Ring." It will have a referee, i guess iryland could be the ref. Other members can go in and watch, but they have to pay an additional membership fee in order to get the password. Not only will provide a place for flamers and flamees to discuss their differences, but it will also drive up site revenue. :D

I did not intend to put down the mods, if I did I apologise. I know that they have a thankless job. It just seems to me that they used to be a lot tougher on things than they are now. If people are left to do as they please, it is going to get worse before it gets better. From now on I will do as crownvic suggested. Once again I apologise if I spoke out of line.............:)

Easyrider, a damn good post but do not 'resent it.' (Except for the not giving a sh#t part.) Some good people have left which is ok as you are always going to have turn over for different 'life' issues. A Mod cannot be all things to all people. But this is not the first thread to this effect. I have read, "ignore the flames." Free speech is one thing, being a smuck is another. The Den is a great place, I do not believe it until I read it here. The thread that I referred to was the Innerm on Rom Glitching which was at one time an everyday occurence here. Maybe the people posting do care and want to make a good thing better.
