Got mine last Friday. This lawyer wants $5000 to 'settle'. Also, he cites the 'dealer' as Fullment Plus. Is anyone familiar with this dealer?

I haven't decided what to do but might be interested in joining forces if other folks in the area are interested.

ursa99,

I haven't heard of anyone yet. If you send me an e-mail we can discuss the idea of teaming up though.

There's an attorney posting on another forums site (----odornews) who's had some success against Dave in MASS. You guys should contact him. Goes by runninrebel (or something like that).

Remember if you have not used the emulator for stealing they will have a hard time proving it in court. They are counting on the court compelling you and others to answer questions in a deposition that you used the device as further evidence of SAT TV theft. If they get nothing out of the deposition this is when I would fire back with a counter suit. My Attorney says they have to show a connection. Which I guess means they have to prove a connection between theft of satellite TV and the purchase of the device. In fact if you only have bought an Emulator and nothing else how will they prove it could be used for theft. If they bring an expert witness in to explain to the court how the device works then your attorney simple has to ask them if it could work alone with nothing else. If you don't want to send them money and have nothing to hide I would tell them to F-off. The Judge is going to look at deposition testimony, and Expert witness testimony. First thing I would do is try to get DTV to stipulate that the mere purchase is not illegal. This is going to set the stage in the judges mind that if they only have the invoice and nothing else it will be hard for them to win. If they loose you probably wont be able to get attorney fees, but you would be able to get any court costs, and expert witness fees from dtv.

I got one from Mclaughlin & sacks, llc in northampton, ma

Same letter content the same, the $3500 bottom line, everything.

I am working on a way to prove the devices can be used for legal purposes.

I am ripping the USC & precident case law apart for loopholes. All it takes is a technicality & case dismissed.

only settle if it appears they have a case.

I feel they don't, your attorney needs to do some research.

Its tough to fight, I am defending myself , & using the attorney for advice & appearing in court.

Install win 2 K

You must read a lot though, i can't tell you step by step.

You shouldn't be attempting to read Dave's smart cards.
You should only use other types of ISO-7816 cards

There are other types out there, you can use the cards ATR as a password, or look for a specefic hex address.

Every card has a unique ID, you have to figure out how to read the ID & use that as a password or key to gain access to the PC

It can be done
