Ok these guys make what... like 40 million a year, NO salary cap (look at the Yankees) and they are BITCHING???? ok my advice SUCK MY BLEEEEP!!! ok F___ You Kiss My A__ and if you REALLY want to know how i feel PM me (j/k) This is ridiculous! i mean come on, these guys have no education, they went to college or got drafted out of high school to play in the Minors, Screw Them, i never went back after the 1994 strike, i still watch games and may occasionally go see a minor league game (more of an effort, they are trying to show how good they are, not just earn another 2 million for showing up) so if they strike, i will not feel bad for the owners but i will feel pity for the players... greed greed greed.... College Football starts in two weeks. I will watch that, and it will be fine for me! I know SOOO many people that will never watch the game again, if you don't beleieve me check out the Sport Illustrated Poll, LOTS of people are disgusted... so let the strike, then watch them live off of no money and see them try and get a real job with a High School Diploma, (hell i can not get a job with a recent college degree LOL) So if they strike screwem and i mean the players. Have fun on your extended vacation, it may get longer than you hope.

P.S. is there any way to make a word game out of this post so it gets like 300 replys in a few days? J/K lol

A neighbor offered me tickets to an Astros game the other day. I told him I would rather mow the lawn. I say screw em all, that includes Nike and their over priced shoes, the owners, managers, players, etc... Us tax payers build their damn playgrounds and then can't even afford to get in.

I hope like hell they strike and lose the fan base and support they have. This sickens me, go ahead go without another world series see what happens, you (MLB) got lucky last time, people came back after the strike to watch Cal Ripken play in his 2131st consecutive game and you got a few more fans back with the Mark/Sammy run at Maris's record, but now there is nothing people will come back for. Baseball has already lost many older fans and the young ones aren't gonna stay interested with a work stoppage at the same time college and NFL football kicks off. I thought this was America's past time, BULL$HIT!!!

I think it's ridiculous for a bunch of millionaires to go on strike.

I hope MLB goes under real soon.

the one thing that bothers me is that they have a union... not that unions are bad. but they are intended for people that are oppressed and downtrodden by big companies and corporate greed and they served there purpose once upon a time. I am sorry but making millions a year is not being oppressed heck neither is making 50k. these guys need to just shut the hell up before they lose what they got. I am tired of hearing them get on tv and say " whoa is me , i have to feed my family and i just barely can do that with 10 million a year, and my health benefits are not totally paid for so how am i supposed to get medical coverage, and what about my personal driver what about him and his health benefits"... oh for crying out loud, Eat a Di#k Up!

Baseball used to be about childhood heroes and memories and these people are doing everything they can to destroy that, I say the real heroes of baseball are going to be the players that dont strike and that go out and play.

another thing,I honestly thought about going out to the ballpark and striking, marching back and forth in front of the stadium trying to convince people that they should not go inside, and instead go donate money to a little league team and watch their game being played. i would love to see people across the nation just going ouside the stadium striking against baseball players and owners, demanding cheaper seats a, salary cap of 200k for the players and 35%-50% of the gross of these teams going to charitable causes.
If everyone stuck together they would be forced into it eventually.
and we would become the first ever Sport Fan Union.

I'd sooner go watch a little league game, rather than spend big bucks to go see a bunch of whining millionaires.

I'm with ya on that one...my boy is 8 years old and is all about baseball. Its great to watch these little guys play and see the looks on thier faces they get a good hit or make a awesome play in the field.

At one time all of these overpaid entertainers.... er.. uh.. I mean atheletes, played the game just for fun...makes you wonder when did it all become just for the money!!:( :R

Seriously if i was a baseball owner i would set up a contract with Arther Anderson to see if they can get me a profit margin for the next 20 years... cause i think they are the only ones who can do it. Hmmm 4 drunk guys in a stadium (only on a dare) only people watching the game, yet they still make a profit of 4.8 billion dollars right?
