This is a repeat of a Sermon long ago but still today it means alot to me, please take the time to read this one my friends and share wtih us today what lays within your hearts.

Hello Friends,

It’s good to see you all another fine Sunday. It makes us aware that we are alive to see another week pass.

As I look out upon the Congregation I see many familiar faces, also I see many new ones as well and as always I am grateful that we meet again. Today I would like to talk about a thought that most of us forget and today's speacial word is
“Gratefulness” and I want to share my thoughts with you on this with hopes that you will share with me as well.

Today I will be simple and not so long winded LOL. I want to focus away from all the sad stuff and the forum for just a little while.

As I turned the computer off and went by the master bedroom the other night where Lady Stumpy and Stumpy J.R. were sleeping I noticed how peaceful they both looked and as a reminder again as always I knew how fortunate I was.

I lay in bed the other night and thought about all the things I am blessed with and that is having someone or something that you LOVE!

Things I am grateful for. GOD for allowing me to live another day, For a wife that sees the good in me no matter how hateful I may get. She has put up with lots of aggravations from a shell-shocked veteran to the Veterans Hospitals. Also I am Grateful for my Son, which I have been told that I gave birth to because he looks so much like me. His little smiles, his warm heart, and the way he reaches for me when he is sleepy or scared.

I am Grateful for my Parents, which shows my family lots of LOVE. We may not see eye to eye on things sometimes about how the baby is over protected but we are new parents and I guess we will just have to learn. Grateful also for my Grandparents that always were there to offer a word of prayer either by touches of the hand with a little whisper with heads bowed or over the phone.

I am grateful for my In-Laws as well! Yep that’s right we have lots of things in common and they have been kind to me throughout the years. Maybe it’s the free TV? Sorry but today is just a little different and we need to smile about things that are nice.

I am grateful for this Great Nation in which I live, well you may ask me why and here is the answer! I have visited about 8 different Countries and being the proud Soldier that I was and still am I noticed that many of the places didn’t have the luxuries that we have today.

Sure we complain of taxes, bills, being underpaid and all but be grateful that your not in a third world Country making designer jeans or leather products for a $1 a day!

Yes I know we as Americans have lost many of our rights! But at least we still have some! Some of you all may not realize this and I want to touch on Religion here for just a moment no matter how touchy it may be. Well I know you have read about how some may not worship GOD as they would like and this is very true! Some people so I have heard while being in the military and while visiting other countries had to actually hide out in safe houses just to get down on bended knee to say a prayer. That is Sad!

I am also grateful for the food in which I enjoy so very often because in other Countries some people do not have these luxuries! I will tell you a brief story before I close about this subject if you do not mind. Well I was on the front lines during a war in which you all know about because I speak about it so often. There was a Soldier that was a member of the Arabian Special Forces sitting beside me as I got a care package from home, in this care package were Twinkies and Cracker Jacks!

This Soldier asked me what were these items? I then offered him some in which he gave me an Arabian Bayonet, which was worth way more than these mentioned above. But when he seen me take the first bite then he knew it was safe for him to test the taste out himself. You should have seen how he reacted to this taste of Luxury.

All I am trying to do today is pass on the knowledge about things that we have and those things in which we take an advantage of so many times. I am sure many of us go to our cabinets and get something tasty out of them from time to time but today as you do these things please remember this Sermon and savor the taste just a little while longer, show appreciation for your Flag not because it flies but because it waves so beautifully and it stands for freedom, be grateful for being able to pay your taxes even though we hate to see them come in but at least we live in an area where we have a right to pay them instead of someone taking our lives because we failed to pay on time, be grateful for your family because in life we only get one chance and why should we waste it? We will never have yesterday back so that we can correct a wrong.

If you have a family and I hope you all do in some shape or form please take the time to just watch them as they sleep if you do not mind because you will see the most precious thing in life right in front of you as they breath so softly.

Good LORD people just take a look at the things around you and then imagine that it is all gone within a blink of an eye, to me that would be very sad!

As I take a sip of water due to a dry mouth I will prepare to close.

Just once my friends if you don’t mind share with us what your grateful for today. Be it anything that you like or love! You see we live all around this world and have different cultures and likes. So we may not have all the same likes or dislikes but one thing is for sure! We can share a little good news today, it would be nice and very pleasing for a change.

So again friends lets lift our heads and remind people about good things, share with us and remind all of us that there are pleasant things still going on and the thoughts that accompany those pleasant things.

Friend’s thanks for showing up to the Sermon today and remember to be kind to someone on this fine day, it could make a difference in a persons life! Possibly maybe even your own!

TELL SOMEONE YOU LOVE THEM TODAY!!!! As that Old saying goes Reach out and Touch someone.

Again as always I thank you for showing up to the Sermon and again I must say may GOD Bless You All this fine day!

Remember Folks that the Sermon is not just active on Sunday’s cause the Sermon doors are open all week long!

Can I get an Amen?

Stumpy,

Once again you have bestowed upon us your insight into the simplicities of life most of us take for granted on a daily basis.

Preach On!!!!
