What was the problem with the check this out thread? Was it the nudity? or the story? The link wasn't all that bad but I'm not sure where the line was drawn???No offence but what happened? SGT wouldn't post something that offended intentionally....It was written into a national paper and available to anyone in a checkout line...

I'd also like to know what happened to that thread. It was a bit vulgar, but imo, was not nearly as bad as some of the other threads that have survived here ;) . Have you PM'd a mod, Bones (easyrider comes to mind)?
.elk
Edit: If we ever do find out why that thread was deleted, it would be nice to know so we don't cross that particular line again....

I must admit, I never thought of the news story as either pornography or promoting pornography, but I can certainly understand why the mods and/or RiseStar would not want to give the authorities any foot in the door, no matter how small or contrived.
Thanks for the reply, Canuckman. :D

I take full responsibility for removing the thread and in my haste I did not post the reason why. If I am to be burned at the stake please allow me to drink my fill of alcoholic beverages so that when I do catch fire I will go out with BANG and a few skyrocket effects.:gg :gg :gg :Z

Had I known the thread would cause problems, I wouldn't have posted the link. It's not my intention to deliberately offend anyone here.

That reminds me...when I was about 15, we made the trek to Tennessee to visit my uncle. Well, he had this friend called Goofy (but he warned us "just don't call him goofy to his face") who made moonshine. It was marvelous. He made clear 'shine and charcoal 'shine. My uncle would do some construction work for him, and get paid in quart jars of the stuff. We (my aunt & uncle, and my family) were playing cards one night, and me, my dad & my twin brother finished off his last couple of jars of that stuff. ;) Everytime my uncle comes out to visit, and that story gets brought up, he always says, "Damn, I can't believe y'all drank all my shine. I never shoulda showed y'all where it was." :gg :gg
Ah, memories. :D

When I lived in NC for a time I went to the local country club..I was dancing with my girlfriend at the time and she had a friend we sat with...Anyways he says come see my truck..I thinking Ok , we get out to the parking lot and there's a Ford F-150..Nothing special..he goes I lied it's not the truck's that's special, look inside..There were several jars of clear liquid with fruit floating in them..He says he was visiting family near Ashville NC in the mountains and an uncle gave him some shine..Long story short 2 cherries and one orange slice later I saw God...No taste whatsoever, but burned like heck going down..I woke around the crack of noon with my clothes and boots still on..OOhhhhh

I was in Cullowee which is near the Tennesse boarder. I had no drivers license and only had the moped to get around on for about three months til I wrecked it so I never got to Asheville much. It was too cold up there for me so I transferred to UNC-Wilmington the next year. Let me know when you are coming and we'll get knee walking...:) Once I flew from Asheville to Greensboro and Rick Flair, Magnum TA, The Rock & Roll Express and Jim Coronet were on the plane. My girlfriend who was from Florida went nuts.

Wilmington is a great town. I have a friend who lives on 2nd St. whose Dad is a Catholic Priest. One day we were playing pool at his house and in walks his Dad with Martin Sheen. Surprised the hell out of me. They were old friends and Martin is a hell of a nice guy. Not very good at pool though.

Heck I'd call him anything he wanted for more of that mothers milk!!I can distill with my setup but you don't get much ..You really need a large copper kettle and all I have is a large pressure cooker modified so that the release valve runs to the cooling coil, not very efficient....It's difficult to to setup that kind of system, and of course there's no explaining it to anybody...Plus very illegal...But makes the house smell good, I guess I could say it was an air freshener!!!LOL
