What would happen if everyone on this forum reproduced "the letter" deleting names (making the letter general) and sent a letter to the address of 5, 10, 25, ect. houses with a dish that they see on the way home? This alone could shut down Greer, Herz, & Adams with the amount of phone calls they receive. This may get Dave to shut down the act of intimidating subscribers when thousands of other subscribers cancel as well.
I know this sounds pretty simple but the results could be very dramatic.
I am going to do this.
Anyone else on board?

FANTASTIC IDEA!!!!!!!!!! Fight fire with fire, play dirty when you go to WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!! After all that's what they are doing, and please don't tell me to take the high ground (no pun intended). The only problem is I live in Canada. However my brother lives in the states and I'm going to call him right now!

well before you would be facing possible Civil Charges, but if people do this it's mail fraud and that's a felony.

Take care when you mail! Don't mail from your house. And drive to the next town when you mail the letters. I still think it would hurt them a little. Might even hurt worst in the middle of a merger!

And besides this is just a question no one here is advocating mail fraud. That would be BAD. Almost as bad as extorting money from an intimidating letter. HHHHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
I am asking for your ideas.

And DirecTV would be none the wiser because everyone knows that they would never lurk on this site . . .

Dave reading this site makes this even more threatening!!!!!!!! If they think that one out of every 1000 people on this site would mail off 25 letters that might scare them. At least a little. I don't think it will win the war but it would turn the tides some. Dave makes a lot of money just by charging advertisers on how many households they can reach. Hell they still make money off the hackers because the hackers still see the McDonalds adds. If you make that drop by 10,000 or 100,000 they might change the way they look at their letters.
I think it might help for a couple of bucks in postage and a drive out of town to mail it.

It's one thing to get the darn letter but now you pose as an attorney sending out letters to other folks.
You may end up taking a one way trip out of town if your not careful.

They can't even find the people that used the mail system as a terrorist delivery mechanism, what makes anyone think they could find out who mailed a few letters from a large town or city. Just don't lick the envelope...could track your DNA ;)

It's gonna look mighty suspicious handing them letters to the PO clerk with a pair of latex gloves on.

Yeah, all the ones having hacked cards by friends or dealers......
However many people that program their own cards, I bet there are 100 times as many getting free TV.
I remember sitting around a bar one night, when this guy starts talking about all the free channels he gets on his programmed card.
Holy shiit, I bet everyone in the bar jumped in talking about theirs.
One guy saying ow his buddy set him up a computer to run his system..
I just listened to them, thinking back to my first battery card and my own emulator running at home.
When I asked how they did this, I must have been givin' 20 peoples names who could fix me up........
I have never did a card for a friend or relative since.....
So much for favors, people will give out your name to anyone.... like they're doing you a big favor. Yeah right.....
I do like the like this idea though, probably be doin' Dave a favor...
