Disclaimer: I found this site on the Internet and have never been involved in any sort of DirectTV piracy. I am stating this in case any idiots from DirecTV try to use the fact that I posted at this site against me. I'm posting here because I am an AMERICAN and have the right to free speech, as guaranteed by the 1st amendment to the constitution, and am being sued and assume there is a community here who can help answer my legal questions.
That said... I know this is a long shot, however I would like to know if anyone here ever saved a copy of the Vector Technologies Web Site (circa fall of 2000) or still has it stored in their Internet cache (even more of a long shot)?
I have checked www.archive.org -- which seems to do a very good job at keeping track of a lot of web sites, however they don't have any graphics from when I ordered a smartcard development product from Vector -- and unfortunately the entire interface of the home page of Vector seems to have been made out of graphics.
For those who are interested in background info, I am being falsely sued by DTV for "piracy" because of my purchase. They sent a letter ordering me to pay them $500 and subscribe to a programming package. I was so outraged I went and got a lawyer, and am still in the process of fighting them. Now apparently they want $3,500 (instead of the original $500) to settle -- no negotations. Who are the PIRATES? (!!!) I've been dealing with this for months upon months (since 2001) and discovery is coming up shortly. I will not give in. My federal court date is in 2003.
I would like to have a copy of the Vector Technologies web site (or at least the home page) from that timespan (fall 2000) to show that they were marketing what I purchased, as a legal device, or at least to show that I was duped into beleiving they were a legitimate company. After all I could have purchased the exact same equipment from other companies. Apparently the only difference is what they were doing behind the scenes -- and now I'm being punished unjustly for what THEY did.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please post here and let me know if you have a copy of the Vector site from around that timespan.
