Just curious, I have not received any letters as of yet and have not read of anyone getting the "first" letter for some time. Have the first letters stopped or are people just not posting about them. Thanks

My friend received his first letter 3 weeks ago, by fedex. He received the second letter, via regular mail 14 days later.
He is using an attorney/friend who has contacted the collection agency that dtv has handling this, and his attorney was told "tell it to a jury". Obviously they would say this because they are getting bucks for everybody that settles.
The agency also told my freinds attorney that "sir, these people bought this equipment for one reason only". Amazing.

That must be one of those places like secure signals where people call you on the phone and read from a script. DirecTV just doesn't get how much this could hurt there subscriptions. I have already been able to get 3 long time subscribers to cancle there subs and go to cable TV.

I got a few people to cancel as well.
When asked why they wanted to cancel they told the rep "Because any company that sues its customers is not a company I want to deal with". One time a phone rep said "Did you get a letter about being sued?" to which my co-worker responded "No, but my dead grandfather did". Anyway, I still don't think they care about losing subs but I'll keep trying to lose them more.

Yeah Directv will lose in the long run if people keep cancelling. My buddy got two letters. He has a plat sub and pays 105.00 bucks a month and so do three of his relatives. They will all cancel and continue to feel the joy. Lets see DTV gets 3500.00 and loses 4800.00 a year when the four plat subs quit. Real smart business move Dave. :R
