Used DCT100

I recently purchased a used DCT100, the pic, sound, etc is fine. First I want to have black bars, not grey bars on the HD channels. I know I have to access the service menu to do that, but none of the suggestions I have read seem to get me into it. Second, when I hit the power button it says "Power Lockout feature enabled. Unable to turn off system", how do I fix that? As far as trying to get into the service menu are there certain steps? Do I have to be at a certain menu, then use the button combos? When I try the info and down buttons at the same time, it just gives me the info of the channel.

Hit the info and down button quickly and let go quickly. Don't hold them down for a long time. I had trouble but it will work if you do it right.

Try tuning to DTV chan 199 first.

If you have the latest software update for your DTC100 then you don't need the service menu to change the bars from grey to black. It shows up under one of the other menus. Look around for (I believe it's called) "Monitor options"
