View Full Version : Problem with Hughes E86 - Acquiring Guide Data

Just bought the Hughes E86 and am trying to set it up. All three satellites have 90+ signal strength. When I go to watch the satellite channels, all I get is a message on the bottom of the screen that says "Acquiring Guide Data. Please Stand By." The message doesn't go away and I get no satellite channels. Have tried both an HU card that works in other receivers and the P4 that came with the Hughes. Any ideas?

So you can get into the menu area, but you can't get any guide info or change channels, no preveiw channels or info.

ususally takes about 5-10 minutes to get the guide data.

mine takes a while for it to go away. Last time I had to just check exit and all came up fine. My e86 still gets occasional blackouts also. I think da** is slowly building problems in the memory of these receivers to thwart us.
