Any dish 500 quad experts out there my mother had a new roof put on and I reinstalled the dish got a great signal on the receiver on both 110 and 119 but for some reason the other two IRDs can't find the switch (Internal on quad 500) I swaped out the receivers to see if that could be the problem and they all work fine on that line. I was able to get a second receiver up but it went out again in about 5 mins. I checked all the connections and cable and can't find a thing wrong. This is a legit dealer install about 5 months old. All I can think that is wrong is the LNB. And a funny thing about the QUAD LNB is was unusualy faded almost brown, where as the plastic piece between the arm and LNB looked brand new like they should. I had so many dishes at one time I had to scrap them, so ive seen my share. I'm in the northwest so I think it getting faded from the sun in 5 months is not a reality I have a gut feeling that the installer put a used Quad on and charged my mother for the new one.
If anyone has any other ideas I would like to here them. TIA

chances are the the installer did install a used quad if you have try to hook up all the ird to the one that is working and they do the other thing you can do is use the same wire and change it on the lnb to another port and if you still can not make it to work them i will call the dealer and have it replace especially if you are under contract they are supposed to take care of their equipment but remenber you have to give them hell :D

I did call the dishnet and they said I would have to pay for the new one and install it myself I said wrong. Then they said they would send one out free but I would have to pay shipping snd install it, I said wrong. They are now shipping it free and rolling a truck to install it.

Man dish kills me... "its our fault, but this is how much it is gonna cost YOU..." screw that crap.. a friend of mine has a legit sub and has NEVER tested, and he got hit in the last round of ECMs, so he called and they told him his reciever got struck by litening and that he would need a new reciever for 99.00.. they wouldnt budge either, so he canceled and switched to directv...

My boss had switch touble and I traced it to an antique looking lnb that didn't match the other one..? Thought the same thing, told him the installer must of put some used junk in. Then I seen it wasn't even tight, being ground mounted I got to thinking maybe one of his buddies needed one and come over and swapped when they were gone...
It was the problem.

It should come in the mail today I think I will go test it before the installer does and make sure I was right

be depending on what recievers you have .Sounds like the Quad maybe the new dish pro quad and it will only work with the newer recievers 301's and up .If those recievers are 2800's an older they will not work with that quad .Just a suggestion!!

All three are 301s. You reminded me to call and see if mom received it. The one on there now is definatly not the dish pro quad. Maybe if I am lucky the new one will be.
