Directv's Answer To The RCA DCT100 Software Upgrade

I spoke with someone at Directv about getting the upgrade for my RCA DCT100. He told me it could be anywhere from couple weeks to a couple months before they send the upgrade again. He said right now they're using the bandwidth they have to upgrade the UTV receivers, they have no set schedule. He assured me it would happen eventually, due to the number of units out there, but who knows when.

and what will the new upgrades do for us, both on the DTC-100 and UTV receivers? Thanks for the info.

I am having the same problem but what I was told is Direct Tv is no longer sending updates.If you need to get your receiver updated you will have to have a RCA dss service come to your house and do a paddle upgrade. The service is paid by Thompson.The reason I need the upgrade is out of the box the RCA DTC 100 does not have in the menu raster centering.I have a plasma set that I need to change the raster to fill the screen.

With the old firware, I think you can get that setting in the secret service menu.

Press the info and down arrow at the same time to bring up the service menu.

I believe you have to be on channel 199 for the info+down trick. Not totally sure though.
