Hughes Electronics last month said it disconnected 50,000 DirecTV subscribers in the U.S., who had been receiving premium channels without paying for them. After stopping service to those customers, Hughes said it expected to increase its total subscribers in the U.S. by no more than 210,000 in the third quarter, compared with a previous forecast of more than 250,000.

I guess they figure that they could send out 50,000 more letters and make $3500 each and that would generate more revenue.:R
