Wellstone(I guess)would have been proud!
It seemed to me that the Democrats were happy that now Mondale would be able to help them hold on to the Senate seat.
ONE QUESTION! Were was the grief over the untimely loss of Wellstone even by his own family??
You know, Ive always heard that the Democrats were the party of the poor man, well that was a poor performance, I have to agree with that!!
Now I hear that Governer Ventura couldnt even stand to sit through it and had to leave with his wife in tears!
At least one person was there to grieve for the death of Wellstone and she isnt even a Democrat!
P.S. Ole Bill Clinton sat and laughed and had just a great time through the whole party!!
NOT SURPRISED?? ME NEITHER!!

Yep, gww, that was a COMPLETELY disgusting display of partisanship, imo. You ask the key question: where was the grief? :R
I can't wait until next Wednesday, and all the campaigning garbage is over & done with. :gg :gg

It seems to me that Democrats have no shame, no honor, to them winning is all important. To turn a memorial service into a political rally for an old has been VP is really low.
I respect the office he held as a senator, I did not respect the man. Nor do I respect the Democrats who would use his death to advance Mondale to take his place in the election.
Why was it that Wellstone's family didn't want the Vice President to attend the memorial service?
Wellstone said during his second election run that it was the last time that he would run. Why did he run again for a third time?

Looking back, he's probably grateful he didn't get invited.

If you use your mind's eye you can see just what the Democratic Party has turned into(thanks to the Clinton years).
They are nothing more than a mob in every aspect of the word.
They are the party that wants to strut around as little Emperors(which is what they like to call Bush, how ironic). I think this is the Democrats proving they can disgrace themselves without any help from Clinton.
Nothing but a bunch of Socialists and proud of it.
Thats not flaming man thats facts.

I like Jesse Ventura, but really, how can he ever be offended by anyone's actions. Look at Mr Maverick's career. Pull out the tapes of his wrestling days. Look back at his tenure as governor.
Of course the old poof, the cheerleader from Ole Miss, Trent Lott deserves to be booed. Anywhere.
The gathering for Paul Wellstone was a celebration of his life and his message. His friends and supporters understand that, of course the evil forces of the right cannot.
Kick his ass, Fritz.

I respect your dedication to your Party of choice, but you are going to have to walk a mile in my Party's shoes to understand the unappropriate festivities of last night.
How would you feel if the Republicans have been doing the celebrating last night?
With all due respect, Ilike a party as much as the next guy, but dont you think last night was just a little Kinky for a Memorial service??
I wouldnt have been surprised if Clinton had a took his clothes off WOULD YOU??

I've noticed that you mention Bill Clinton in each of your posts. It seems you are fixated.
Let me give you more material to ponder.
Dubya was a known coke dealer and user while he attended college and continued from there. He was a drunk. He was awol for two years while he was supposed to be stationed in Alabama while in the Air National Guard. Laura Bush ran a stopsign and killed a classmate in high school. She was never charged with anything. Both of their daughters have been caught drinking under age numerous times. Neil Bush bankrupted Siverado Savings and Loan, walking away with millions. Dubya engaged in insider trading gaining millions when on the board of an Energy Corp. It goes on and on, not even mentioning Jeb Bush, his wifes smuggling conviction, daughter Noell's problems, etc, etc. Check it out, it's all true.
Of course, Bill Clinton did get a piece of butt, and I, as a supporter was disappointed and embarrassed. But I realize, like the rest of the world he was a brilliant leader, quite a contrast to the dull, 6500 word vocabulary, moron who currently occupies the office.
I bet your amazed that I never even mentioned the Bush brother's theft of the presidential election. I thought I just leave that alone.
Don't start calling me a liberal either, I'm a centrist, even a fiscal conservative. Most of my close friends a Republicans, some are Libertarians. I've personally placed two tax increase referendums on the ballot and won both times.
I simply beleive the Bush boys are overprivliged, under acheivers.

Ya George W was a party animal no denying that, but then so was I and I don't feel guilty for it or that I did anything morally wrong. Clinton on the other hand had the Whitewater land scam and a higher than statistically possible amount of close associates end up dead of unnatural causes. And he (through Ron Brown) gave his good buddy "Tyson chicken" (Arkansas based) an obvious back door deal in the northwest. He appointed Ron brown to the commission that decided who received what percentage of the Alaskan Pollock (imitation crab) fishing quota. Tyson bought up the Seattle trolling association and Ron Brown gave 90% of the quota to Tyson (Ron Brown also died in an accident). When Clinton was campaigning for President he flew around the country on Tyson's private jet. This deal was worth untold millions for Tyson and bankruptcy for all the other fishermen. So lets weigh it out. Bush party animal that is more like you and me and is strong on military intervention of our interests. Or Clinton associated with murder, large scale corruption and well frankly banging ugly women. If I was in his shoes, the women I philandered around with, would have been nothing less than Playboy material. I mean come on, what better line to use to P/U women than "How would you like to work on the presidential staff.

It may be the only common ground here is that Bill Clinton ought to be chastised about his choice in women.
I think even his most ardent supporters might agree with his most vocal detractors on that issue.
However his Mom doesn't look like the Quaker Oats guy.

I live up here in the land of 10,000 taxes, and let me tell you the sh*t has just begun to hit the fan. The discussions about the absentee ballots, neither party likes the new/suplemental ballots for their own reasons. Our left-Wing newspaper has already declared Mondale the winner. The last time Mondale ran for Senate was 1976, he is 74 and has been out of politics for over 15 years. The only reason they picked him (Name recognition) is because all the old people in the nursing homes remember his name.
Remeber when Mondale ran for president he carried only 2 states the Distric of Columbia (all on welfare anyway), and his home state, which he barely carried at that. That was embarrising...
I did not care for Wellstone's political views, but I do feel terrible about the loss, it is always horrible to hear about sudden unexpected death to good people.
However my Govenor can beat up your Govenor...hahaha, he is another idiot, but I did vote for him...:Z
Enough said on this little rant....

"theft of the presidential election"- come on, get over it...the law is the law and Gore lost, period...check the headlines the past few weeks regarding democratic voter fraud all over the place...Theft? ha!
Laura's accident as a teenager that killed a friend...that is true...she lives with that...no charges, etc were filed...she and her family were not heavy weight politicos in Midland, pulling strings...
"Dubya was a known coke dealer and user while he attended college and continued from there. He was a drunk. He was awol for two years while he was supposed to be stationed in Alabama while in the Air National Guard."
Known by whom...has anyone come forward to accuse or do we deal in whispers and ineunendos? Yes he was a drunk...its been 14 years since a drink (the strongest will person I've ever known kicked herion cold turkey locked in a motel room by himself) Fourteen years and no sauce demonstrates a great deal of will power and self control to me...
GW has an MBA from Harvard or Yale in the days when MBAs were difficult to get...okay he had a C average...he got the paper (unlike Al gore who flunked out of law school and divinity school...
Finally, he served his national gaurd duty as a fighter pilot out of Ellington AFB...but of course fighter pilots are also dummies, aren't they.
Your facts regarding Neil are incorrect...
(and I didn't mention the "Arkansas traveller"-smile)

Ihear evryone talking about who did who but all slanderous activities (dem and rep)aside lets look at a few Democrat FACTS.
Look at who votes for Democrats, it's someone usually who votes with their heart and not their mind if you look at the facts.
What is the reason that most Democrats approve of a woman's right to choose?
What about the fact that most Democrats are voting for Democrats because they think they are going to lose their Social Security?(havent yet)
Im going to be honest with you guys, if it wasnt for the issue of a woman's right to choose I would probably vote Democrat.
I went to College during the Clinton years and It was a good time for schools, I havnt figured out was Dubya did to the money but I wish he would give some back to the Schools.
I dont care much who Clinton screwed while he was in office, Its the way he handled it that bothers me and that is what bothers Democrats too I would think.(I hope)
Anyway, what I am trying to say is I vote my mind and not my heart and feeling good about a Candidate aint always the right reason to vote for someone.

Actually StormRider, I grew up in an Air Force family. My Dad was a lifer. I've lived on more air bases than I wish to remember. I lived in Texas as a kid. Waco, just a few miles from the Bush vacation WhiteHouse. I don't think pilots are dummies. Drunks maybe.
I do think Bush is a dummy.
Once you get yourself up to date on Neil Bush you will realize my statement is correct.
I've flyfished on the White River in Arkansas. It's beautiful and the fishing is great. Clinton was found not guilty of anything in that inquiry. He was accused of taking a $60,000.00 illegal loan/payment. Hell our county commissioners here steal more than that every year from us.
Clinton is a piker, the Bush boys steal millions from banks, insider trading, you name it.
As far as a womans right to choose, if we can trust them with a child we can trust them with a choice. I happen to disapprove of abortions, but that's my choice. I won't impose it on anyone else.
Unless they're Republican children! (I'm just joking)

"Unless they're Republican children"...gadda admit, that was a good one...
I grew up protesting for civil rights and against Vietnam...I can appreciate a Paul Wellstone-just can't stomach disingenuos lauts who agrue that a reduction in a "proposed increase" is a cut in a budget.
I thought I was up to date on Neil...the problem with a women's right to choose is that it leads to late term, partial birth abotions, abortion as a primary means of birth control, and now we have euthanasia in Washinton and Oregon, etc...some things society simply can't sanction and maintain a society... to summarize the things I think we agree on...the memorial was in extremely bad taste.
Here's the point; and the problem-we pirates tend to have more honest and civil discussions of events and politics (most flames tend to be directly over dss issues -or not using the search engine) in these forums than we get in Congress and during elections...Of course, the democrats are to blame for this (kidding)

He's definatly tough on any anti American influences. You want to know what realy makes me want to hurl is Jimmy Carter receiving to Nobel Peace prize. He was so peacefull, that America was the laughing stock of the world during his administation. He should get the Nobel wuss prize. Remember his hostage rescue attempt "Delta force" what a joke. The arabs had no fear of him. look at what happent when Reagan took office the arabs were pissing there robes. They had the hostages on the next flight. And remember Muammar al-QADHAFI and his line of death. Hey we bombed his home and killed his son. How close do you think a Libian plane could get to any US coast. You notice we haven't heard squat from him since. We need to overthrow Iraq, and through the Soviets try to make some sort of friendship with Iran, and everything else in the middle east will fall into a semblence of peace. As far as Israel goes they have proven they can take care of themselves. They believe in an eye for an eye and it works Look at the attached map they are surrouded by the whole muslum world that hates them and yet they have never been defeated. My whole point is some people talk about it and some people do something about it. I believe in getting right in the face of a problem and have no respect for people that talk a problem to death. You can sign a billion treaties and they aren't worth the paper they are written on, unless you bundle them into one big mass and air drop them onto to the heads of our enemies

yes i saw the article about unmanned CIA plane frying some arab terrorists... i think it is great, and apparently it was all done with the cooperation of the yemmen government. it is good to see arab countries staring to stand up to these types of people.
and in reply to the "womans choice issue"...
1. She and He make the CHOICE to have a baby or the risk of having one when they have ---. dont do the crime if ya cant do teh time.
2. People that are often for abortion are often against the death penalty , which i find really odd.
3. I am not totally against abortion i just think that there ought to be stricter controls on the practice.
4. there are alot of people that i work with that i wish had been aborted.

On the Carter Issue.
Ole Carter, he tries and thats all the Democratic Party expects of him.
Lets all hope MONDALE(remember him??) doesnt get into the Senate tonight! wouldnt that be a boost to the Dems(I guess).
