Can an unlooper with SU2 code program any DTV access cards (As far as I know, its only use was to repair H cards)? If not, doesn't the people who received letters have a case against DTV?

well lets just think about this one for a second. You have to program the card in order to repair it. As soon as you do, you have brokewn several copyright laws, and by the definition of the laws have also used the eqipment to defent card security. I do not think you want to use this as your defence, but that is up to you. I really can not see your lawyer even allowing this as well, but again I am not a lwayer either. I would have to say you are better to make DTV show you where you broke the law, then you trying to show them why the law is wrong.

The discovery phase in all of this is where you will want to make sure they can not prove you did anything wrong and you should not show them you know more then simple understandings. As soo as you try and claim you are knowledgible in this, DTV will agree and then say then you should have klnown all along then about just what, where and why you bought the product. Now is not the time to show an IQ in all of this.

I think that is the best advice I have seen in a while.

I should have been more clear. I don't know how this works, thats why I asked. I was just trying to throw out ideas for other possible class action suits. The current one might stop them from sending letters but it would not stop them from sueing anyone. There must a way to show its not illegal to purchase these devices without a test case. But I am just hoping...
