Will they come to my home if I have a Directv Dish on the roof?

I got a Directv system in March with no problem but yesterday onee of my nieghbors was saying it is illegal. (I did not tell him about the cheater card ) He just saw the RCA on the dish. So I have two questions - first are THEY going to come to my home in Toronto if I have a RCA dish on the roof and second question is : can I use a Express dish with the RCA satellite system?

tell him you have expressvu, and the installer ran out of BEV dishes, so he used a dave. Having an rca dish is not illegal.

Or ... just buy yourself a can of grey primer and give her a makeover. Then tell him that being the law abiding CDN citizen that you are, you couldn't bear the guilt and decided to switch over to HellExpressVu or ... buy him a beer and invite him over for some PPV.

I had a neighbor who tried this with me (not for a dish, for a deck). Told me something about my deck was "illegal". After a little research at city hall, I came back to him and told him that the 24' out of ground pool he had installed was done so without a permit let alone right underneath the power lines from the pole to the house. He never said anything again.

I'm from the Toronto area as well. NO, they will not come knocking on your door (unless yer a dealer maybe)! There is no law that states you cannot OWN a RCA DTV system. If they do come knocking, they would need a search warrant, highly unlikely unless you have a 10 million dollar hydroponic pot setup in your basement (I'm assuming you read the newpapers this last week !!! hehehe). Police in T.O. have alot more sh#t on there plate at the moment that would be deemed more important than your measly 18" dish HAHAHA LOL !!! Also, yes a Bell ExpressPuke dish would work with your RCA setup, just point it in the correct direction, and away you go, the LNB's are identical.

Thank you to every one. I am new to the satlites and new to Canada (5 year ago) so I like the police here better than my old country - but my nieghbor caused me to be a little frighten. I think I will get the Express dish and then tell him to f* off . Thanks!

You could always go out and buy a dish cover, also here lots of people putting garbage bags over the dish to improve signal in rain.
