My cable company has been fighting illegal reception of cable for years. I never thought they would stoop this low for promoting their high speed internet.

Just like with the hardware you bought to modify access cards, there are many LEGAL reasons, and methods, to downloal MP3's.
(editors note: Line one, word six indicates someone else. I would not do this)

...what's interesting is if you've ever seen DirecTV's DirecWay commercial, where the guy walks into the theater without a ticket and says "it's ok, I just want to see the previews" you will notice at one point he is in a music store and takes a couple CDs to the clerk and says " just give me tracks X and X etc." which seems a pretty clear implication that you can buy DirecWay to download copyrighted materials from the internet.

That is good point. They always like the advertising about the internet to tell that you can download the songs. The Bell hi speed television advertising is the same. The one where the kids come to the basement. The kids are sending a song at one time in the advertising. I guess this is ok now, yes? Ha Ha
