gotta be samantha.
Saphyre isnt a word, and the closest word to it being, is not a name either, its a gemstone.
Autumn is a season, not a name, so thats out.
Brooke?...well maybe, cuz its kinda a name (see also shields and burke....mmmmmmm, brooke burke! theres two words for ya!)..but its also almost a small stream.
samantha.

I'm with max1mike on this, the only other option was brooke, but you can only name her that if mom was a former playboy bunny

I am going with Brooke on this one too.. although, that could be misconstrued for being a type of stream.. you know... fishing down by the ....
Also, naming a girl is VERY important.
Here is why... two girls, one is named Brooke, the other Gertrude. I can almost guarantee you that Gertrude is going to be one ugly woman...
Ginger and Hilda.. understand?
Naming a girl is very important in regards to how good looking she will be later in life.

Here's my order: Autumn, Brooke, Samantha, then Saphyre. Congratulations on your impending life-change! Little girls are great to have around, and as Daddy, your relationship with her will be her first true love.... :D

I have two boys..
Here is what I have learned about the difference between boys and girls, other than the obvious.
If you have a boy, you only have to worry about ONE -----.
If you have a girl, you have to worry about ALL -----es (penii?)

Just wondering.....Do you know you are having a girl? If not, you may want to pool for a boys name as well. I found that naming our son was way harder than if we had a girl. We had tons of girl names picked out.
We only had one boys name decided on so that was the one.
ps. I like Autumn :)

thanks so far for all your inputs and encouragements.. and jokes...
the reason why we know its a girl is because our doctor backed out
and this being the last month our new doctor got all the tests done
again...included ultra sound this is one month from due date so the nurse is 100 percent she seen a girl.. Now im really hoping she is right cause other wise he wont be much of lady’s man =),
saphyre was my choice cause i was going for an original name and something that would represent how i feel about her at the same time
hence the gem..
(plus the spelling, found about 4 ways of spelling)
Im starting to like the sounds of autumn...
..
I find naming is the hardest cause I want to name her something
and my gf already has a name set as well ... ....
Something my gf found last night from names..
NAME: Autumn
ORIGIN: Latin
MEANING: From the season
NAME: Samantha
ORIGIN: Aramaic
MEANING: Listener
NAME: Brooke
ORIGIN: old English
MEANING: One who is near
a brook or stream..
NAME: Saphfire - Saphyre
ORIGIN: English
MEANING: From the gem
As cheeseee as this sounds we are both agreed to take this poll to heart..
Its not like we have not come up with names…of our own we just now need some
Influence anndd as bad as this sounds.. which ever name wins the poll.. Im lucky cause
I like them all.. She says she does 2 but combining 4 names is not going to work..
I do believe this should also be a joint discussions.. and feel I have to justify this post some how .but cant….. has anybody else out their had problem agreeing on a name…
The due date is dec 10 so if this post gets berried ill try to bring back to life in dec
Thanks again everybody

Hehe...I can just see the conversation about thirteen years from now...
"Daddy, why did you name me <insert winning name here>?"
"Well, honey, that's kind of a funny story. You see, there's this website called Pirate's Den, and they have this BS forum...." ;)
