Anyone who was there care to comment on any information received?
Was anything said about dealers who sell to Canadians vs those who don't in the area of DTV?
How about those who don't sell dishnet, just dtv equipment?

It's not great reporting, but this c & p from another site is by
dcwckwd.
Alan Gold and Mr.Wagman (I forget his first name, He's the other lawyer) began speaking about the Canadian Charter challenge and what was happening. He told us that BEV had 8 lawyers on the case and they were trying to sue anyone they could. He also mentioned that a final answer will probably be from the Supreme Court and that will take 2 years on average, meaning us Canadian testers shouldn't be liable for anything until a final decision is made. He also pointed out that most cases are on a civil level meaning Bell is suing them and not the crown. As the time for dinner hit, a rush of 200 hungry testers ran to 1 buffet table to grab food. It took 30 minutes to get food. After dinner, we got time to ask Alan Gold questions. I gentlemen stood up and asked, "If virgin BEV receivers can take the Dish net software update and be used to illegally decrypt the Dish net satellite, then Bell IRDs are illegal? Correct?". This was a very good point and Alan Gold agreed with him. Another Individual asked about the recent SignalTech raids, since dealers from SignalTech were there. A criminal warrant was presented to Signaltech, it seems the police did not find anything and SignalTech was falsely accused. The owner of CTY also told us that BEV was suing him for 100 Million Dollars and that he wanted to start a satellite coalition with TV commercials telling the Canadian public how we feel. Everyone applauded and it was time for the draw. The draw winner was a employee of Incredible Electronics. How can I say *Cough* Rigged *Cough* and we all left. It was a pretty good turnout and a good event worth my 60$.
(That last comment due to Incredible Electronics sponsoring the event.)

I thought that there would be alot more questions from the crowd but, I thought about it, kinda like exposing yourself and all. The 2 uniforms at the door didn't make me wanna get up and start asking too many questions. They were locals ... still kinda intimidating.

We would like to thank everybody for attending(except the 15 gate crashers who didn't pay) we sold 228 tickets @ $60. ea. our cost for each dinner was 25. & we paid for 210. total raised was 8430. we donated the cost of printing the tickets, & trading the 8 systems to Sandals for the TRIP. We would like to point out that Tino doesn't work for us, but did help organize the event. He bought 2 tickets like everybody else, and both lawyers drew the ticket. Thanks Again!:D

Thanks to David and Rhonda at Incredible for a great evening full of good food and information. Maybe the gate crashers will send in their donations since they didnt pay for the dinner. But more important everyone needs to continue their support for the cause by raising funds themselves and suporting the suppliers that are funding the cause also.
