Iposted a couple of weeks ago regarding a problem in aligning for a satellite installation. I was sent a link to a copy of the Starchoice elliptical dish installation guide (single LNB).That gave me the co-ordinates I was looking for, but the problem seems to be something else.
We get some channels but not others. We get a very strong signal (92) on satellite "A4" according to the reciever, but can't seem to find the second satellite. When we tune to channel 583, he highest reading we can get is 19. We took the dish to a clear area to see if it was a tree problem, but no luck. We still get a high reading on some channels (eg. 398, Global, Sportsnet, CBC West, Mystery) but nothing on others (eg. TSN, CBC East, Bravo, etc.). Could there be a setting which must be adjusted to allow the receiver to pick up the second tier of channels? Is it an authorization problem?
My friend tried to get through to Starchoice servce and spent 20 minutes on hold and gave up.
Is another gude for the dual LNB type of dish?
Any other thoughts?
Thanks.
