Has anyone had any luck modifying the settlement terms in the current End User settlement agreements?
Such as...providing access to my TV/Satellite setup between 9-5?
We really have no choice but to pay these folks their $3500...I don't need the hassle that may linger afterwards. If I pay this money...I don't want to ever hear from them in any way or form.

Some have posted that they negotiated wording that they would not be charged criminally. I've read no reports of removing the "9-5" inspection provisions, though. If you settle, regardless what you or your lawyer manage to negotiate in your behalf, you'll never be truly free of the provisions you sign off on. For their agreement not to prosecute or file civil suit, DirecTV is going to exact means of monitoring your compliance. If you feel they're being hard now, they'll make your present situation look like a pleasant day at the ballpark if they gather evidence you've backslid after signing. If you can't live with this idea, F-I-G-H-T !!! But be prepared to sell the ski-boat, mortgage the kids' education, and face the prospect of even harsher sanctions if you lose. DirecTV is NOT offering you amnesty. They're offering you a last chance to avoid a court date.
