If anyone can provide helpful information about this, I would be very appreciative!

I've been using a make-shift Dish 500 on a 2700 IRD (Ver 766) for a few months now without any problems. It was basically a DTV dish with 2 LNB's taped together and strategically placing the dish and LNB's to get both 119 and 110 via an SW21. Well, now I got me a Dish 500 which I THOUGHT had a built in SW21. Here are my questions and comments:

1) The Dish is labelled DishPro on the LNB's and consists of a 2 LNB unit (they are attached together in 1 peice), one labelled 119 and the other 110. There is 1 coax output per LNB. How can I tell whether there is a built in SW-21 or not?

2) If indeed there is a built in switch, do I need to use outputs from both LNb's or will 1 suffice?

3) When I do a switch-check, I get a 'no switch detected' and only 119 odds. When I use a real SW21, I can get both birds and odds/evens fine.

4) Is the 2700 IRD even capable of working with a new Dish 500? If not, then I'm wasting my time trying to draw illogical conclusions.

Anyone have any ideas or answers? There's no need to go into great depth, just yes/no would suffice. I just would like to know that I'm working on it in the right direction. Thanks! :)

ahhemmm... since no one replied, I'll reply to myself. :)
For those who want to know, I've corrected the problem. It turned out to be a defective LNBF. So to answer some of my own questions:

1) Yes, my dish had a built-in sw21

2) Yes, a 2700 (Rev. 766) can support a Dish 500 LNBF with built-in SW-21. As a matter of fact, I got the 2700 to lock on to 61.5 also (so 3 birds in total utilizing 1 sw21 and my old dish 300. dish 500)

3) After messing with the setup for a couple of hrs, I need more hardware to test with to determine the problem. Got a hold of another identical LNBF and as soon as I swapped (no other changes made) it worked like a charm.
