i have a couple of questions regarding the HD-5 i obviously need the 3 lnb, oval dish combo to receive the hd channels, now my questions are can i do the 303 mod to this model? approx how much is the oval dish i read $99.99 is this right? and how big of a difference on say local feeds is this model as far as quality? i have a 65inch mitsubishi hd-ready tv is this receiver worth my money? my main concern is football when the camera pans back on the whole field is the only time i ever doubt the ability of my big screen, has some shadows then... other than that could not be happier....
TIA, lp2896

I'm not aware of a 303 mod (no zkt) for the Hughes 86/mitsu.

100 is about right for an oval 2 lnb dish, plus about 30 for the 3rd lnb. You can find it for less, but compared to 500 or so for the IRD who cares.

The OTA high def and standard locals look fine. Dave’s locals are better than what you can see over cable. But here is a question.

If you look at the Buffalo locals, and compare them to the Pittsburgh locals, the Buffalo locals have some annoying MPEG artifacts. Solid backgrounds get progressively fuzzy for about 3 seconds and then it looks like a complete frame is sent that clears the picture. I don't see it on other channels.

I think the receiver is worth the money.
