I got a New Sony KV34XBR800. I need a decoder for it. Anybody have this model Sony? People rave about the Hughes decoder, but I have a regular Hughes E6 that I plan too keep for another input. Wouldn't the remotes cross-talk to both of them? Not much info on the Toshiba. How about the Sony 100 decoder? Seems like an obvious choice but I hear they have tons of bugs. Thanks.

I have the Tosh DST3000 (I think it's the same as the Hughes E86) and I definetly recommend it. Good OTA (displays info unlike some others) and has better signal strength than my older RCAs - anyone able to explain this?
Anyway, good reciever.

Thanks, guys. I was hoping for a positive on the DST 3000 simply to avoid remote control conflicts. I read the entire Hughes manual today and there is no way, apparantly, to make one selective to one unit and another to another. If I get an E86, I'll have to replace my E6 with an RCA or something.

I just got my new Hughes E86 today and have been playing with it for an hour or so. So far, I like it very much. Except for the fact that I am currently in aspect ratio hell. I use one receiver for the whole house. These (all HD IRDs) aren't very convenient when attached to 16:9 and 4:3 TVs at the same time. Lots of mode swithcing going on. I may keep my old Sony reciever and run two systems at the same time. One for HD and one for SD.

I think you need to check again, Ha!Ha!. The manual says you can make the remote operate on one of 8 different codes. Check the bottom of page 2-14. Check page 7-4 where it says how to set the receiver and page 8-5 for the remote.
