I have a DST3000 receiver on the way for DTV. I also have a 57" hitachi HDTV . I have several questions.
1. What channels are broadcasted in HDTV format and What Sattelite(119/110/61) (Channel numbers would also be helpfull)
2. Is there a special type of Antenna needed for over-the-air reception of stations like locals?
Any tips or tricks are welcome and thanks

Any standard over the air antenna should work fine for "OTA" DTV reception. Direct has HDNET on 199, HDPPV on 198, HBOHD on 509, and ShoHD on 543.
You do want the oval dish with the three LNB's

Yes dont even hook anything up till you get a 3 LNB dish. Also dont let the sales people shy u away from doing it yourself. It is easy if you installed your single LNB system. Not sure this helps any but 90 hase some weird asian shows on once in a great while.

ok...first of all thank you folks for the info..
Next series of questions..
I got a dual dish today..the oval one with 2 dual lnbs and all that. I have been reading about the sat C stuff...
I have got everything i need to to put the 3rd lnb on except the sat combiner...Will a SW21 switch work?
If not are there any other devices that will do the same job?
If Not..Where can i get just the sat combiner thingy at??
Thanks again

Take it back and get the triple lnb dish with built in multiswitch.
No the sw21 will not work. You need the sat c kit which comes with the SPECIAL lnb and combiner.

I just replaced my old round dish with one of the new 3 LNB dishes. It took me about 20 minutes. And 10 of that was dragging the ladder out of the garage. Pulled the old dish off the mast, put the new dish down, connected one cable, pointed it in the general direction, went back in the house and the IRD was already downloading guide information. I went to the signal setup page and was getting 85+ on all transponders. I went back and moved it a little more west and was getting at least 90 on everything. Done. Piece o' cake.
