OTA, or Over The Air, antenna is a normal UHF (for most cities) antenna. Nothing special required.

Look on this site for the specific antenna type you need for your area, antennaweb.org (mods this is a non-profit informational site, please delete if this is not allowed).

If the local stations in your area broadcast DTV (Digital TeleVision) signals, and you have an HD IRD, you can use almost any OTA (Over The
Air) antenna to recieve this signal an watch it on your HD setup.
There is no such thing as an HD antenna, even rabbit ears will usually work.

Note that just because you are recieveing a DTV signal, that does not mean that it is HD, but almost any DTV signal will look better than the analog version, and most certinally better that the version that comes from the Sat.
You can NOT and most likely NEVER will get a local station from the Sat in HD due the the bandwidth that HD signals take up.
(I realize that E* has a network feed (CBS?)in HD, but that is not a local...)
