I have a 57" HD ready Hitachi. I hooked all of the cables up for HD as well as the s-video for SD. I still have the round antenna so I know I won't get HD yet with DTV. But when I watch any channel from the input2(my HD input) the color practically goes away. When I switch it to the s-video SD input, it comes back perfect again. Does that mean that I should only watch HD on the input2(HD) selection? So when there is an HD program on the color will come in properly or what? Thanks.

Thats odd, I have the 36" Hitachi monitor and have the exact opposite problem. If I try to watch something in SD that is upconverted the color goes way to far to the red. I can correct it but the extent of the color error varies from channel to channel. Like alot of people I only watch the HD channels in HD and toggle back to the S-video input for everthing else. What I find annoying is how slow the guide becomes in HD. I personnaly think the guide features of the GABEO blow the E-86 away.

I have the Hitachi 65 and the E-86, had the same problem. I played with the Red, Green, and Blue connections on the IRD, tighted the clips a little bit and it seems to have fixed it, maybe they are a little loose on the inside?
Drove my wife and I crazy all day! I spent how much for this?!?!

My E86 works perfectly using either the SD or HD outputs from the receiver. One thing though, The E86 only outputs SD signal when you have it set in the A/V setup menu to 480i (SD mode). When you switch to 1080i (HD Mode), I have to switch my TV to the HD input to see anything. Also the inputs (red green blue) for HD are in a different order on my TV as compared to the outputs (red blue green) on the E86. I would make sure these are hooked up correctly.
I still only use HD (1080i) when watching HD programing because I have a widescreen TV (16:9) and the sizing controls in the E86 for 4:3 aspect programing are less than desireable to me. My TV does a way better job of sizing, but that only works in SD mode since all HD programing is in the 16:9 aspect ratio.
