instead of using ota antenna for hd locals can you use cable connection instead and still get hd signals. or do they not broadcast hd on basic cable?

I would think that the answer to this one is no, but it would depend on your cable company...lets see we will take up a lot more bandwidth to provide what the consumer can get for free OTA....ya, that'll keep us in business, and it might justify the raise in rates that we just socked you with.

You can however, combine your cable channels, with a diplexer, into the Satellite IN on the Hughes and they will appear in your satellite guide. You can then put an OTA antenna in the In From ANT input to get what ever HD signal that's available in your area (this too will appear in the Hughes' satellite guide)
