Hi I have this really weird problem. I live UP North. The temperatures are 5 to -5 F. At these temperature It seams I cannot get a sat signal off of the 101 bird when using my Hughes E86 I have a 3 LNB with the multiswitch built in. I have another Ultimate receiver in the other room running of the same satellite and it gets the 101 bird just fine 90+ signal strength. On the E86 I get 90+ signal on the other birds and no signal on 101 bird. The really weird thing is if I go out and touch the side of were the LNB's are mounted I am assuming were the multiswitch is with a metal pliers I will get signal until I change channels. I notice when I change channels The transponder on the 101 bird changes transponders also. Any help would be great
Thanx

If I understand your problem, it's that the output that your E-86 it attached to the switch on is flakey. Did you try to move its position to another port? Possibly the one your UTV has no problem with? (this will only help diagnose you problem Not fix it)

As for your "plier" fix, I'm not sure why this would work, but I'm sure it does :) Is your dish & switch properly grounded? If not, this might be an answer.

Extreme cold does funny things to LNBs & Switches as does extreme heat. Moving the switch indoors provides a more stable, dry enviroment and when possible it's a good idea. You may be able to remedy your situation by doing this.
